I just have to laugh.

It's fun to have Leach in the conference for the press conferences, the random upsets he pulls, and the inexplicable meltdowns like today against CSU and last year against the Buffs.

Dude makes things entertaining.

He's entertaining coaching other teams. Just glad he will never coach my team.

Exactly. As long as Leach never gets near a CU sideline, my life is enriched by him being a college HC.

Oh Lord... too funny.

I mean, on one level I know we should hope for the Buffs to rise to the top rather than have teams settle down to our level, but damn. You can't help but love this collapse by WSU

Exactly. Can't wait to get the one liners from this PC. I'm sure there are plenty of "fat girlfriends" around in Pullman but I am interested to hear a new excuse. Perhaps the team ate too many tacos and it game them brain damage.

Wow. That was an epic coaching brain fart. May we never top it's epic ness! Can't believe my eyes....

This thread could be about cougars sleeping in trees.

Did not watch. What happened?

Wazzu led 45-30 with 3 minutes left. CSU scored a TD and kicked it back to Wazzu. QB ran the ball on first down, CSU ripped the ball out after he was down. Refs called it a fumble, overturned on review. Clock started, Wazzu ran a play immediately instead of letting the clock run. Fumbled. CSU recovered. Scored a TD with 30 seconds left. Ran a statue of liberty on the two point try, called no good. Runner hit the pylon with the ball, so overturned on review. Tie game. Wazzu fumbled the kickoff. CSU recovered. Kicked a FG on the last play to win the game.

Epic meltdown by the Coogs.

3 fumbles on running plays in 2.5 minutes. Not sure that's on Leach. Not like he was running double passes or the flea-flickr.

That's got to be bad karma.

Choking is to WSU what red bars are to Burrito. The bigger the collapse, the more epic coug. The should be celebrating in Pullman!

I'll be honest, I was rooting for the conference in this one, but frankly, I couldn't me more amused by the outcome.

This is why people think some of these games are rigged. Wazzou fumbles on 3 straight plays? Refs calls had to be over turned twice in the last minute. Not sure what the ref saw on the 2pt conversion but he was nowhere close to being out at the one yard line like called. I wonder how many gamblers got f-ed in the A, like I did? Spread was Wazzou -4.5.

On the running plays, it is on Leach. Trying to close out a game tends to go haywire if you can't run the football.

On the two point play, the ref just ruled that the ball didn't reach the end line. The spot didn't really matter, as far as if he was out at the one or the ball went out an inch short. Still a bad call to blow when the ball clearly hit the pylon.

This times a 1000. WSU looked uncomfortable running the football, they almost looked like they didn't want to do it.

In addition the running plays they called were risky by nature. Calling read options that require the QB to put the ball in the RB gut and then be able to pull it out again? Leach didn't have them prepared to handle the situation and they didn't.

After they got the first down (on a pass by the way) with CSU out of time outs they would have been way better off to simply kneel down 3 times and punt to a team that had dirven on them multiple times but lacked explosive playmakers.

If you go back ad look the ref takes a few seconds before making the call the places his foot out side the 1 yd line. Saying the rb was out of bounds at that spot.

Another reason it's on Leach - he can't figure out what he wants to do. They receive the kickoff, up 8, and he tells his kick returner to slide rather than risk a fumble (wonder if he wishes he did that the next time). Then throws a bubble screen. He plays safe nor minute and rolls the dice the next.

I didn't think he could coach much worse than when he gave a game to JE. But this was epic.

Which still made exactly zero difference. The only relevant thing on that play was whether the ball crossed the goal line.

The runner actually did go OB somewhere around the one yard line. He was just able to reach the ball out and hit the pylon.

So now that the Rams have won the NM Bowl, will they have enough donors step up to help build their stadium?

If I'm not mistaken it doesn't matter where the runner was. As long as he had not touched any part of his body out of bounds or touched any part of his body other than his hands or feet inbounds touching the pylon with the ball makes it a score. The replay clearly showed that he was fully airborn when the ball hit the pylon establishing the ball in the end zone by rule.

But after the 1st turnover was overturned - CSU had ZERO timeouts left. There was only about 2:00 left in the game. Wazzu could have let the play clock run all the way down to zero before running another play- which would have burned burned 30+ seconds off the clock. They could have just kneeled down and pretty much run out the clock. Instead, Wazzu snapped the ball immediately - and fumbled.

That is 100% on Leach.
