Can't believe we didn't have a thread.

Great game.

Buffs up 55-54 with 12.1 seconds left and Cal's ball after the timeout.

Cal thuggery intimidated Buffs just like last year. Can't believe the Cal player who threw the ball off our players head didn't get a technical foul. Wish Lappe would be more assertive with her timeouts at times.

Start at the top to see what they are missing, Lappe is not a good coach IMO. Chucky made her look good last year.

Oh FFS, the women lost to another top 25 team that happens to be at the top of college basketball year in and year out. How do you explain the success the previous three years, or was that all chucky also? Linda has a total of 4 out of conference losses since she has been here and 6 post season tournament wins.

The team is very talented, but also very young. Inconsistency is going to happen. KMM did not do us many favors with the state things had gotten to before she was fired.

2 of 19 or 20 from the field from 60% of your starting lineup will not win you many games.

I am sorry but "thuggery"? Did you not see the DELIBERATE push on Wilson to our Courtney Range after the fast break lay up to cut the score to 53-47? That is a THUG and a punk. Gray was falling out of bounds and threw the ball off your player and unfortunately it was in her face. You ask anyone in the game of basketball, including coaches and commentators about Gray and they will tell you she is the sweetest girl you will ever meet. Commentators even said that during the game.

You guys lost because Cal has more heart and trapped the hell out of the ball in the second half. It is not thuggery that your team is incapable of breaking a press!! Enjoy getting swept this weekend after the Stanford game. It was nice moving to 29-0 against teams outside of California under the Gottlieb era last night.

That was a really frustrating collapse.

:yeahthat: The Cal press really caused the Buffs trouble to start the second half but they worked thru it and figured out what to do and then re-established their 10 point lead. Then it looked like the Buffs figured that Cal (a final four team last season) would give up and go home. But when they didn't and instead came back with more full court pressure, the Buffs seemed surprised and didn't respond well. They once again had trouble breaking the press and then shot themselves in their collective feet with bonehead moves like the 10 second violation on B-Will and some bad passes in their half court offense. And of course they horrible inbounds attempt with 5.6 to go. They seemed to have burned up all their energy in overcoming the early second half pressure and rebuilding their lead and had nothing left to get through the final 4 minutes of play. Unfortunately this is becoming a bit of a pattern when playing good teams. It has happened in, I think, the last 3 games against Cal. It happened in the games with Louisville (we managed to barely hold on here last season, lost there this season after being up 1 with about 4 minutes to go), some of the same last weekend at UCLA but again they managed to hold on for the win. Need to learn that the game is 40 minutes, not 36.

Oh gee sorry...I meant 'muggery'

This team has yet to play a 40 minute game. The talent is there, but it is young. The loss of Weston hurt big time.

There is nothing wrong with Lappe's coaching. She inherited a huge mess and has turned the program around. I had thought the team was overrated this season and these games are showing it.

They need to figure out an offense. They simply have not scored enough points the last three games. This team needs to have a team meeting and decide how they want the season to continue--losing or winning.

I was at Friday night's game. For a Buff fan, the second half was very painful to watch.

Lappe has stated that there isn't leadership on the floor right now and it's also clear the team is lacking mental toughness. In games prior to Friday night these issues have come up, but for the most part the team figured out how to win (CSU, WYO, Iowa). Now in conference play the opposition is on to them.

CU is going to face an uphill battle to finish in the top 5 of the conference. They most likely will lose this afternoon v Stanford and then go on the road to the Washington schools where a split would be a good outcome.

I think the team and coach are learning what it takes to become ranked and stay ranked in the Top 10-20 range. They went into halftime with a comfortable 10 point lead and came out with an attitude that they would play the the same way in the second half and when by 20. Neither the coach or the players were prepared for the second half intensity that Cal brought. Cal wanted the win more than the Buffs and got it in the end. Reviewing the game film CU will see they let the game get away because they didn't play a full 40 minutes. I think it will pay dividends down the road and I can see them advancing to the sweet 16 this year.

You forgot to tell us about Cal's academic rank amongst public universities. Also, you failed to mention that you got into Stanford, but found Cal to be a better fit for you.

You forgot to call her a hippy.

Women still ranked at #21

The women also a "man" down. Sborov out with a broken foot. Season just got tougher for the ladies as well.
