With five offers already on the table, Lamone Williams did not feel the need to travel 2,500-plus miles to attend camps.

With 4 PAC 12 offers, plus Wisconsin, this is the kind of battle we need to start winning.

If our staff of recruiters were car salesmen....well lets just say the lot would be full of cars.

Part of their job is to successfully recruit. Anyone who gives them anything other than a below expectations mark has blinders on.

I'm not denying that part of their job is to successfully recruit, but I'm also not going to freak out given the state of the program and its perception around the nation, which is not good. I believe Adam said a couple of days ago that we were no longer recruiting Williams, so there's that also.

Not heartbroken on this one. I think Mathewes should be rated as high or higher than Williams and has more upside.

I'm kind of surprised with the reaction here. I wasn't aware that Williams was still a target or that we were taking another DE.

FWIW the article 13 days ago said we were trying to get him to visit after the dead period

I believe Adam stated we weren't recruiting the Shay's teammate who had recently decommitted from USC.

He also stated that, but it was a seperate thread. I looked for it but I have no idea what thread it was at this point.

I don't think it matters what recruit thread we are discussing it in. The fact remains that almost all of our 1A and 1B targets are going elsewhere and even some of our diamonds in the rough that we find first and work on the most choose to go elsewhere once more info gets out on them.

No it's weird that you'd choose to talk about this in a recruit we weren't even recruiting anymore. And since we took a big chunk of our class early on before the season even started I'm going to guess that most of the commits are guys that were very high up on their boards. We've lost Dotson and Waz while other commits have been pursued by other PAC 12 schools, a SEC school, and a ACC school but have stuck.
