Great prospect, but not sure he is quite at the 5* level that 247 has him.

He may be wanting the academic help he's more likely to get at Bama than the furd.

Bama is a lot better academically than some think. It has improved rapidly over the past decade and continues to do so, but yes, it's odd to mention academics as a reason for Bama when a Stanford offer is on the table. Remember going to high school with a girl who passed up UVA and other such top schools for Alabama. Left me scratching my head, but it worked out wonderfully for her. Granted, of those 9 offers listed, Bama sits 7th academically...

Apologist.

I'm glad they got their QB this early. It makes the other dominoes in the West fall more quickly since that's the top QB destination.

Rumors are UCLA might getting their 2015 QB soon enough as well. Things might move very quickly after signing day.

This was a bit of trade between the two teams. USC gets Town and Bama gets Sills who was committed to USC for four years.

Just an excellent example of what a complete DB was Lane Kiffen. Sills has been committed since the 7th grade. Yes he's pretty good, but as was predicted, other kids have passed him, despite him flying coast to coast for his personal QB sessions. Just seeing how involved his dad is makes me want to pass on this kid. No thanks!

Sills adapts easily and just looks forward to hearing from Steve Sarkisian. Sills' father, David Sills IV, says that meeting will happen soon.

"I don't really know," Sills IV said. "He's going to come out here in January right after the dead period. We're going to sit down to talk and at that point, we'll figure out if it effects us in any way."

They haven't had the chance to build a relationship with the new USC coaches yet.

"I didn't really know them at Washington," Sills IV said. "I met Steve Sarkisian at the coaches convention for about ten minutes last year and that was it. I don't know any of his staff but the key for me and what makes me the most comfortable is that they're retaining coach Helton who I know very well." - See more at: http://colorado.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1591131#sthash.Rxc74FCQ.dpuf

Got to wonder if Sark felt the same way. Getting Town to commit took care of two problems at once! I don't really look at Sark as a top-shelf coach, but in this case, I like the balls he is showing.

SC fans say he's horrible and Darnold is way ahead of him.
The great equalizer for CFB where recruiting is so important.... the difficult job of evaluating/projecting 18 year olds, especially the all important QB position. Grad transfers keep the rich, rich.

Humorously, we were once debating whether Darnold was worthy of a CU offer and ridiculing his offer list at the time. His stock rose pretty quickly after that.

Over/under on how many schools he either plays for or at least signs paperwork with before he ends his eligibility.

When he signs with Pitt that will be 4. Can he reach 7?
