How Is Little Brother Doing in Recruiting?

Just curious on how the other Coach Mac is doing? We have this nice board here to keep us CU fans happy, but how is CSU doing?

Ram Nation if it doesnt cause your eyes to bleed is probably your best bet for CSU info.

Wtf? Get that **** out of here. Csu fans go to Csu board.

Semper Gumby

I am not a CSU fan. I do follow Colorado sports. My point was with all the bitching about our recruiting, are we on par with our closest in-state school? If they are pulling in better recruits I would be concerned. We need to constantly pull in better classes than them for sure. That was my point. Not being a fan boy of CSU at all. I just wanted to see if we were doing better.

21 commits, which includes 4 signed JUCOs.

Of the 21, 5 are 3 stars, 14 are two stars, and 2 are zero stars. One of the 3 stars is a big QB from a HS in Oklahoma.

Geographically diverse. A good representation of all positions.

Probably a typical Rammie type of class.

They will be pretty well coached. 16,000 locals in FC will watch them play the likes of NM, S Jose State, amd UNLV.

Here are CU's numbers using the same "Rivals" star system:

19 total commits, which includes 2 signed JUCOs

Of the 19, 8 are 3 stars, 10 are 2 stars, and 1 is zero stars.

So CU is doing better, in the Rivals stars universe. It would be great to have some 4 stars, and I'm sure the CSU coaches feel the same way about their recruiting too.

stop. doing. this.

just. taking. rivals. stars. stuff. off. of. rivals. boards.

talking. like. robot. is. fun.

We're doing better than they are, as we should be.

And I agree. However, if you read some of these boards, we are not doing better than teams like CSU. That is why I wanted to know. They don't have a centralized thing like AllBuffs.

Take 247 and netbuffs with a grain of salt; Netbuffs is histrionic and the 247 board has an axe to grind.

If you want a real gauge of how we are doing vs CSU I would check with some of the guys paid to cover this, that said the loose take is we are ahead of CSU with a smaller class per the services. We dropped 7 slots on 247 last week when we lost Dotson so any additions to the class will prove huge. Right now CSU is at #85 and we are 10-15 slots ahead depending on the day/re-rankings etc. Rivals has us 67 to their 78 and scout 69 to their 78.

IMHO we should be doing better than that but maybe CU can get a surprise next week. CU should NEVER only be 9-11 spots higher than them...NEVER.

This thread could become a real doozie, Ned Ryerson style. I have nothing left to contribute....

Agreed - losing Dotson while pickign up a 2015 didnt help us last week, we were 15-20 slots ahead of CSU at that point. If we can pick up another similarly ranked prospect we'll jump back up.

So, if Nash got his dream and we moved to the Mountain Worst Conference, we could take over second place in the conference from the Lammies? I feel better, now. Nothing to be concerned about.

If we get shields that pretty much locks us in 20 slots ahead of CSU - if we get any of the other potential late rumored guys we'll finish 30 slots clear of CSU.

Deionte Gaines, Silvester Hayes and Marcus Wilson are solid players IMO.

/ducks for cover

Kyle - how about Tre Thomas from Overland? Sounds like a beast, but I don't see that he is on anyone's top 10 in state kids. Is his apparent clearinghouse clearance a surprise? Chose CSU over SJSU, Fresno, Wyoming etc

The qb from Broken Arrow, OK, can sling it. Could be a good pick up, depending on how fast/well he transitions to the college game.

Scoreboard.

Its all that matters. :smile2:

We'd still be behind San Diego State. Oh, snap.

Again, its about the scoreboard. Ask Mack Brown how well five consecutive top 10 classes served him. These "rankings" are hogwash.

I don't know that CSU beat us out for anyone we went really hard after. I'm sure our class would be #1 in the MWC by far.

But there is a LARGE gap between the MWC and the PAC 12 obviously.

Even if we land just one of the 4 star guys were courting right now, I look at our class as an upgrade in talent and character.

SDSU currently has a higher ranked class than us although it is on the strength of 24 commits to our 19 - they have 1 less 3*than us.
