Someone in a Rivals thread thought we should at least take a shot at Rosen since Fields has been a big target for him. Why not aim high?

Gotta love Akron throwing an offer out there. Can't hit a home run if you don't take a swing, I guess...

Agreed. So why don't we do the same? We are a lot better than Akron-I mean a lot! We just got his favorite receiver (Gorney from Rivals just confirmed that in an audio on Rivals).

It's a longshot and I am sure Slider is right that he is a Stanford lock if they offer. But if they don't, who knows. While Duff is probably close to right at 0%, as you guys like to know I am fond of odds and numbers, I am going to go with 5% chance we could get him.

It is a 0% chance he ends up in our 2015 class. If you want the coaches to throw out an offer so you can praise their recruiting, so be it.

Far from my point. What odds did you give us of securing Fields when he was committed to BSU or USC or beforehand? I suspect pretty low. What odds did you give our staff of even getting an OV from Ballage let alone be in the race with 10 days to go? Probably pretty low.

All I am saying is unless you have talked to the kid yourself, you can not say there is a zero % chance he would ever consider us. I am also saying the odds are terrible but you never know if you don't try. I bet you would have told Clark to not waste his time going after Fields when he was committed elsewhere.

You among all people who constantly complain that we are not going after BCS caliber athletes and that that is the only way we can be competitive in the Pac 12 ought to understand the rational why it would make sense to knock on his door and try to give him something to think about.

I am glad we did not give up Fields. And once it became clear he was looking around in December, I was as confident as anyone on this site. Ballage visiting is a nice shot in the arm.

None of that matters with Rosen. It is a two team race and has been that way since last summer. Multiple west coast people have confirmed this and the commitment of Fields changes nothing. Us knocking on his door is not going to change it. If you want to keep the fantasy alive, go ahead. There is 0% chance he will be a Buff.

Maybe some of us should be more aware of the fact that there are so many hours in the day and praise the fact that our coaches aren't wasting time with no-hope situations.

If Rosen is a lock for Furd or fUCLA right now, then there are very few programs that could turn his head from that. CU needs to focus resources.

Exactly right, Nik. It is not like the coaches are setting their sights low with Sheriron Jones and Jake Browning. They look like longshots now, but maybe that has changed.

If CU offers to high school football players are thrown around like propositions from Rugged to pretty girls, things will eventually go south. You can't have the whole bar see you strike out with the hottest girl there, then expect to have an easy time getting the next best thing.

I don't know if it does considering everyone was expecting him to pick UCLA

I bet this will cause some QBs to make their decisions, though. Lewerke comes to mind since I believe his top 2 were UCLA and ASU. I'd think he'll commit to ASU pretty soon.

I didn't know if anyone else had UCLA as a finalist, so maybe in that case we could see things start to happen.
