'13 CO ATH Dylan Spradling ATH (SDSU)...

Sorry, couldn't find anything on him. Appears Walters visited him and there is an opportunity at CU?

Via a tweet.

I wonder what that's about. Preferred walkon, greyshirt, or an extra scholly might be available on signing day?

Gotta think it's a PWO spot

My initial assumption, but why wait till the last weekend before signing day to bring that up?

Really have no idea there. I'd rather have Spradling than MacIntyre if that's one of the scenarios.

interesting that Rivals and Scout don't show him offered or committed at SDSU.

I wonder if he was a PWO at SDSU and had "committed"?

Interesting. Looks like a good player. Anybody see him play last season?

Emailed Dylan, he said coach Walters offered him a PWO spot as a wide receiver.

Another PWO who could eventually earn a scholarship at CU. I really hope we land him. Walk-ons like this are how you build depth and a scout team that could beat a decent 1AA team.

He looks to be a better raw athlete than some guys we have given schollies to in past years. If nothing else as you mention he could contribute to a scout team that is better able to look like a major college opponent. In better quality programs guys like this tend to show up contributing on special teams as well.

He also comes out of a program that has produced some decent talent (Jon Major among others) over the years. If he has a good experience at CU it could be another factor in getting us back into the race for Colorado recruits.

If nothing else this is a sign that the momentum is building in Boulder.

Quality PWO.

By the way I wonder what the cost difference is between SDSU out of state and CU as a resident for undergrad.

So looks to be about ~10K savings walking on at CU.

Thanks for the research, that's a significant difference, moreso if he spends more than one year without a scholly. Add to that difference the cost involved in travelling back and forth from home to school a few times a year and other cost associated with living further away from home and even if it didn't make sense footballwise it would be hard to ignore.
