Garrett Grayson for Heisman

National attention — or better penetration across Colorado, for that matter — is really what it's all about, rather than the Rams' best player being worthy of college football's most coveted award.
More eyes on the program means a larger reach and, possibly, actual Heisman votes. That means more potential donors, leading to hitting the proposed on-campus stadium's fund-raising goals, leading to building said stadium, in turn pulling more out-of-state students, providing more revenue to the school and the interest of better recruits with improved facilities. That means more wins, leading to a Mountain West championship, a berth in the College Football Playoff, then a national championship, which draws more donations to CSU academics, ultimately leading to the development of a time machine, which prevents George Lucas from creating Jar Jar Binks, and keeps "Sports Night" from being canceled on a cliffhanger.

What am I missing here? His main point about Grayson being underrated is dead on.

From the Manning Passing Academy, this is like a free $100 toward CSU's on-campus stadium's fundraising goal, well, assuming that Grayson donates the football.

FREE FOOTBALL EVERY CAMPER WHO REGISTERS ONLINE WILL RECEIVE A FREE SPALDING TF-SB1 FOOTBALL (A $100 VALUE) WHEN THEY ARRIVE.

I look forward to seeing his mom's commentary on ramnation. Before it is deleted, of course.

Heisman quarterbacks often have their marquee season when the running backs they were counting on spend the spring running away from their coach.

Especially when they are also losing their best offensive linemen to graduation as well.

Uhhhh, so he's already light years beyond the last CSEwe QB with a legit shot at the Heisman - the much heralded Bradlee Van Smelt It?

What the hell. Go ahead an throw Greyson's name in for a Pulitzer, Nobel, Caldecott, Grammy, Oscar, MTV Music Award, and a Congressional Medal of Honor, too. It could haaaaapen.

Didn't he just break his collar bone...again?

It was his left one, and according to goatdom, he's so good, he could win the Heisman with one collarbone tied behind his back....

And they are so good with him that he doesn't need off-season workouts. fact.

I just read the article. I don't think the author actually believes Grayson is a legit candidate. I think he's trying to convince the SID at CSU to start a campaign, just for the publicity of it. Of course, this all backfires if Grayson has a mediocre year. With no running backs, and 4/5 of his starting OL from last year gone, it's not going to be easy for him to replicate what he did last year. And let's be brutally honest, what he did last year wasn't all that awe inspiring to begin with.

So even giving the writer all benefit of doubt, it's still an incredibly stupid idea??

Absolutely. It's completely moronic. Sports writers these days tend to not be the sharpest tools in the shed, though. It's clear this guy isn't exactly Pulitzer material.
