Hard to imagine this kid appears totally undiscovered. We have a young guy on our roster now from his school don´t we? I can only assume that given that his HUDL highlights are from his sophomore year that he was playing behind a stud this year so he didn´t get on the field?

Did they have a starter in 2013 that was one of the big names this year?

PRich spent his senior year at Junipero Serra, which is one of the top HS for talent in the country.

Here are the kids just from the 2015 class - and Wilson isn't even on this yet.

Knee injury last season. Now healed.

We might be getting lucky on one of those guys who falls through the cracks.

He played in Georgia his sophomore year because his dad was the d line coach for Georgia and is now the d line coach for USC. The starting qb last year was Jalen Greene who signed with USC.

Thx, SD. I knew it was a good HS so that´s why it made no sense their QB is so far off the radar. But I just saw KM´s post in Rivals and now I understand. He didn´t play for them last year and was also injured.

If he starts this year for them and we get a commit from him and he ends up playing like a stud, it could be the steal of the year. Too early to tell since it is not clear how interested we are in him nor how good he really can be based on his sophomore film. But upside is definitely there.

Just found an article about his dad when he took the coaching position at Georgia. In the article there was some interesting tidbets about Caleb:

The biggest recruiting battle for Wilson may be the one waged in his own living room. He and his wife Tina will be moving the Athens area with a prospect of his own in tow. Caleb Wilson is a 6-foot-3, 180-pound quarterback drawing recruiting interest in both football and basketball. He’s a rising junior, or Class of 2015.
“He’s excited about the new opportunity,” Wilson said of the Starkville High star. “Obviously it’s always a tough transition for a young guy like that. But he’s excited about coming there and excited about the competition level he’s going to get at Georgia.”
As for which school will land Caleb and his little sister Colby, 12, Wilson said he’s staying out of that.
“Mom is all about academics and people, so that will be up to her,” Wilson said with a laugh. “She’s No. 1 on that deal. I wish my boy good luck on that because Mom’s going to determine it.”
Clearly a savvy recruiter as well.

If talks escalate we'll send Waldo in as our diplomat. He speaks very highly of Caleb's father.

not a rivals member so I am not sure if it is discussed in the article, but the family lived in Boulder when he was younger. Chris Wilson coached under Barnett. Wilson's name was also rumored as a potential replacement for Greg Brown if Embree had been retained a third year.

Let's just sign this list as a package deal.

Some timeline issues here. He just enrolled at Serra. Never backed up Greene and did not play in GA as a Soph.

i think he was in GA as a Jr but missed most of it due to knee injury. Dad was named coach at USC in Jan.

His hudl highlights say sophomore highlights and they're from Georgia. Also, I never said he backed up Greene, someone asked who the started for Serra was last year.

I didn't say you did. Clearly that question was asked because he didn't play as a Jr.

Played in Starkville as a Sophomore. In 5 games, replaced the starter who was injured (the starter was a commit at MSU). Moved to Georgia in 2013 with his dad. Was injured. Reports are he missed almost the whole year, but I haven´t found any stats of him playing a snap in Georgia.

Dad moved on to USC this year and he was choosing between 2 schools and decided on Serra and is now enrolled there.

Given that much of the higher end programs have chosen their QB, and few of them are going to want to take a flier (unless he is the 2nd QB taken), I would think we could have a real shot here. Not sure what pops thinks about his kid playing at another Pac school and have to play against him every year against a Pac12 South team?

But if we offer and he commits and then blows up this year, it could be the get of the decade!

Pops seems to be a real "rolling stone" as an assistant coach---three schools in three years? Who knows where he'll be coaching next year or the year after anyway?

Heck, Chris Wilson is only in his 40s and Baer is a 62 year old DC. Wilson could end up being our DC before his son graduated if Baer retires.

I hope he shows up and goes lights out and the staff offers him and he commits on the spot. And they find a way to keep it on the down low for a few months to keep him under the radar.

Sweet. I still think he could end up being one of the sleepers of 2015 out West but of course it is too early to tell. If he ends up with an offer from us after his visit than I hope he´s our QB for this class b/c that would mean HCMM & Lindgren think he has enough upside despite the lack of film and experience to compete in the Pac 12 with our offense.

Serra spring game, which is basically a 7 on 7. Wilson's number 12, the first QB.
