Liufau looked great at the scrimmage. I am getting pretty excited about the offense as the running game looked good too and we have more depth at WR than we've had in a long time.

He has a lot to work on with the long ball. But, that being said, he is deadly accurate on his short to intermediate throws. Those throws will move the chains. Hopefully the defense can keep us in a position where we don't need to throw the bombs to keep up.

As the article (opposing coach) points out, he needs some good receivers to step up. If he has multiple trustworthy targets, I think he'll have a great season.

Yep. This is so key. We have to keep opponents from rolling up safeties or not having their LBs respect our intermediate-deep passing game. If we're running the ball effectively, the play action deep balls into single coverage have to be big plays.

While we can be successful and hugely efficient in the 0-20 yard pass play range, it won't score enough points to win football games in the Pac-12. And it gets less efficient if the deep ball isn't respected.

If Sefo is nailing 20yd passes efficiently, I think we will be ok. That is long enough to keep the DB's off the line of scrimmage. They will be closer to the l.o.s. than they were when P-Rich was here, but they shouldn't be creeping too much.

We need our O to keep our D off the field as much as possible. As long as we can get the ball in the endzone, that strategy will win more games than it will lose.
