Starting safeties: Chido and Tedric

But Chido is still NB1, so when we go Nickel we'll see Terror, Mosley or Evan come in.

Starting OL is what we expected (Irwin-Crabb-Kelley-Munyer-Nembot).

WRs are the same as they were coming out of the spring (Spruce-Bobo-Deuce).

Frazier did take over the FB1 job, as expected this fall camp.

Adkins is back at RB!, as expected.

Wiefels is low enough on the OL depth chart that we might be looking at a redshirt.

Ross is above Dunston, Lee, Mac and Walker on the WR depth, so he may have jumped the gun tweeting that he would redshirt.

At DT, maybe a surprise to some that Parker is starting over Solis. I think that might be more of a rotational thing.

DE starters are Gilbert and McCartney.

Markeis Reed out with injury. I'll be interested to see how high he goes on the DE depth chart once he's 100%.

DL backups make it look like they're going to try to redshirt Franke and Mathewes while playing Lopez and Shaver.

At OLB, KT Tu'umalo is ahead of Rippy.

John Walker, not Terror Smith, is listed at NB2. (I hadn't heard JW's name this camp, so nice to see he's progressing.)

For specialists, Oliver is handling kickoffs and Diego is buried. Talianko is going to be used as a gunner on coverage teams.

Also, HCMM said after practice that this depth chart is "very fluid". Guys are still competing for position. I'd guess that they'll know for sure after Tuesday.

Fields also shot up the depth chart, seems like for the longest time he couldn't get away from the 3rd string O.

DE is the only spot where I'm really not comfortable. Not that we're going to challenge for a conference title with that lineup, but to my way of thinking, that's a pretty solid starting group. Assuming they can all row in the same direction, they could do some damage this year. Fingers crossed about DE. Somewhere, AZ's brain is exploding with Parker starting over Solis.

Gonzalez must really not be impressing to be behind a walk-on K. Was hoping he'd be KO #1 with his strong leg.

TE shouldn't make your comfortable. Same for LB, although not as bad as at least we have bodies there.

Is anyone else a little concerned that Crawley won the DB job opposite Henderson? I know we have been hearing he has improved, but he had a long way to go from last year. I really hope he has improved a lot, otherwise I am concerned about what this says about our other DBs. It seems like we are going to have some serious trouble getting to the QB, so these DBs are that much more important. Please tell me I shouldn't be concerned.

Sefo, Sefo, Sefo. We still have so much youth and holes, this team is all about how far Sefo can take us. Makes us proud! We're all counting on you. :)

Was that Munyer and not Mustoe? I hope so based on all the practice observations.

Go Buffs!

Thanks for catching the mis-type. Fixed.

Munyer is our best OL and is starting.

Mustoe is our #1 backup at OT.

The DB's are the strongest unit on the team. Relax.

We won't know until we see it with Crawley, but apparently he made a huge jump this fall. Physically and mentally. I guess it clicked and he really separated from the pack at CB.

I'm not sure that the order of subs is necessarily all that relevant. It ignore things like positions, so the coach may have listed top to bottom in "WR's" for example and not so much on Offensive Line.

I am under the distinct impression that Ross is not ahead of Donovan Lee or JayMac at the slot. His RS idea appears to be his, a reaction to not getting PT. preserves a Juco year.

Hopefully Nik is right. If there was any surprise on this roster, KC would be it for me.

I think even after spring everyone here was almost penciling Ahkello in at that CB 2 spot. I think KC took that personally and either re-dedicated himself or finally like Nik said, "the light came on" this fall. He's got the size, speed, talent to do great things on this defense, he just hasn't had that mentality. Best news though is that if things go south, we've got able bodies waiting in the wings to step up if they're called upon.

So, no strong reaction to Callahan being a back up right now? Does it say more about him, our current starters, or the time it takes to gel on OL?

Callahan just needs to work his way onto the team. He will get his opportunity

I think it has more to say with him not being 100% mentally ready and the coaches not going to put him in the starting line up until he earns it. And with his position apparently being RG, I am ok that he is still behind a senior.

i think it says that our coaches require kids to earn it, and they didn't just anoint a kid coming from Auburn

I hope it's just an "odd man out" situation with Callahan.

Once Irwin showed he was 100%, that was like getting a starter back. (Irwin was slotted to start last season.)

Then, you've got returning 5th year senior starters at both guard spots and a returning 4th year junior starter at RT.

So whether Callahan would start came down to whether Kelley was able to take ownership of the C position or whether Munyer would have to slide over -- which would open the RG spot for Callahan.

I actually think that they'll rotate enough that Callahan will get a ton of quality snaps this year.

We are still a long way from being a good football team but for the first time in a number of years we are going to have quality football players sitting on the bench when the game is still in question.

Crowley has always been a plus athlete, his 4* ranking was based on that. His problem was always finishing the play. Hopefully this means that he has taken that step into being an effective defender. Either way we play a lot of teams that can and will throw the ball all over the field. We will need multiple CBs to get through this season so backups are going to get rotated in.

The Calahan thing does surprise me but it does mean that the coaches think that they have 5 guys who are better than he is right now. Again I expect to see, unlike recent years some rotation on the OL. Also would not be a surprise to see at least 3-4 guys start the 5th game of the season who don't start this game, and not because of injuries.

Dude, Crawley made a lot of progress last season and continued to take big strides over the offseason. Step back from the ledge, my lord

I think Crawley has benefited from HCMM in his ear and Ahkello pushing him as well. Crawley didn't play the ball in the air like Henderson does, i.e. competing. He has improved there I'm told. Competition brings about focus and dedication. Crawley has tuned in.

Question for AllBuffs:

Is the 'Tini-CUFan relationship best described as...

A. some weird Renaissance Festival thing?
B. a religious cult with CUFan as a deity?
C. disturbing master-gimp action we'd rather not know about?

As an aside, I rewatched "One Crazy Summer" this last weekend.
