Getting fired up for Arizona State

I hate the game in Denver. Love our games at Folsom. Already looking ahead to Arizona State. I know I'm just drinking the kook-aid here, but I'm hoping the loss to CSU really is a good kick in the pants to our players and gives them a chip in their shoulder with something to prove. It would be a miracle, but I'm believing we can beat ASU as a major upset.

Night game. Folsom Field. Victory over ASU would be huge. (Sure, we gotta best UMass first.. But it don't best UMass I'm just checking out til Tad Boyle brings us some Buffs dominance instead!!)

anyone else think we could beat ASu??

I think we should all get "fired up" before that game. :smokin:

Didn't think we'd ever find a bigger kool-aid drinker than boyd, but here we go!

If we do not score in the mid-high 20s, you should be concerned about the offense going forward.

I was was a student at CU in the early 90s, so I always expected a win. I can't help but think of a Folsom as a place where we win. A night game and some anger by our players for being schooled by CSU could help set us up to win?

If their plane gets lost on the way here maybe, otherwise not much chance.

We don't match up well with their speed. Unfortunately this is going to be a common theme all year for us.

I'm excited. First game of the year at Folsom. Conference opener. Scenery should be beautiful. And in general, I love football at night (yes, I know I'm in a minority here in CO).

Do I think CU will win, probably not, but we might catch the Sun Devils sleeping. I want to see progress. There's been plenty of commentary about our running game, poor play by the DL, non-existent play by the LBs -- I want to see incremental progress.

On a related topic -- give me reasons why a Cyclone friend visiting from Wisconsin needs to come to the game with me. I got: checking off one helluva beautiful stadium from the 'visited on gameday' list, scenic mountains in the background, Ralphie running, seeing a ranked team.

The game was definitely on the agenda, he's a sports fan, but told me today he's OK missing it.

If he is ok missing the game then he doesn't really need to be your friend.

Seriously, I'm looking forward to it as well as I'll be making the trip up for the game. I'm bummed that we probably won't have the Blackout atmosphere that we could have had with a win over CSU but it should be fun anyway.

He might be on to something here, kool-aid hasn't worked very ****ing well. Maybe some kook-aid is just what we need.

Toootally not an AD plant. I want to apologize for ever suggesting such a thing.

As an aside, I'm looking forward to seeing a game in Folsom (I'm definitely in town for that one). I hope the team looks better than it did on Friday.

Definitely not. He didn't even mention the $25 tickets. Wait. I just did. Maybe I'm the plant. This is so confusing.

I just hope we stay within 50 vs ASU. How the hell anyone can have confidence in this team after that performance is beyond me.

no way we beat ASU. Could make it fun though. Over/under on student attendance is 4k.

If Rick George would like my opinion, I'd say:

1). Let HCMM know that you do not lose to CSU. Period. No need to discuss further but get it fixed.

2) drop CSU from the schedule when that contract ends. Is that 2017? Or is it 2020? Let's play some Old Big 8 schools like KU or ISU.

3) no more games in Denver. When we finish our new stadium upgrades, all our games in Colorado belong there.

4) encourage HCMM to make necessary changes this week to address what happened. Supoort the coach but also make it clear you expect him to be moving in a positive direction showing signs of progress. Our previous AD was great with the GO Bufffs mentality all the time but we need someone to set up some accountability too.

5). Get the students to come to ASU game!!! Buy them pizza, give them free stuff. Do what it takes.

Yeah, I don't think interns normally get that kind of access to Rick George.

I can't believe you really think I'm a plant.

I'm not an intern. And I don't work for the AD or CU, etc.

i did go to the national championship game in Miami after the 1990 season. I have always hated Notre Dame because of the Orange bowl the year before. I drank the Kool Aid when it was spiked with a heavy shot of reality back in those days. Now I still drink the Kool aid even though I now need a much stronger Kool aid to make theses seasons bearable.

so when you think I'm a plant, that's where I come from. Maybe that helps.

also, I think Phil DiStephano should be fired or demoted. He was in charge of this mess when we had Hawkins. He was. Mike Bohns boss. He watched as we hired multiple WACish coaches for al sports. Our misery in football affects the school and it's reputation and the lack of attendance affects. Boulders businesses too. Phil now says the right things but he sure seemed to have been in charge of a major failure.

You're a really old intern.

Seriously, are you an intern? You know you're legally obligated to tell me if I ask.

I would be be a very old intern. I am not an intern though!! I'm just a diehard fan. Did anyone else here actually go to the NC game in Miami? I bet many people here did. And for anyone who was there, how could you not be a diehard after watching that. I guess it will just take time for you to all see I'm not a plant. If we lose to UMass, it will be quite clear I'm not a plant. But I'm a Buffs optimist, NOT A PLANT. :)

You seem kind of defensive.

I suggest staying away then. For the sake of those memories.
