Official "I'm off the bandwagon" thread

I am not off completely... hanging on similar to the German army truck scene in Raiders with my belt wrapped around the axle at full speed dragging through the dirt. With certain death as a consequence if I let go.....

I like it how the guy who has always hated the hire, and has been openly rooting for MM to fail, is now hoping other fans hate the hire and want MM to fail too!!

I'm sure there will be a HUGE line of coaches wanting to come to CU if they fire another coach after just 2 years - but by golly, dumb CU fan will be happy!!

I doubt MM makes it past year 3. 3 years of 2-4 wins. Add in the worst recruiting staff in all of BCS and RG cans his ass

Ya you've got it. I've been rooting for UMASS just so MM's seat start to warm:rolling_eyes:

I want to see if they can make adjustments in the 2nd half. I still think you really can't fire Mac after only two seasons. The most you can do is pressure Mac to make some changes to his staff.

With that said, lose today and talk of 0-12 will start, and those are usually resume generating events for head coaches.

Theres only so many P5 jobs.

BTW definitely not advocating firing him after this year. Completely off the table

HCMM isn't going anywhere. But every one of the assistant coaches except for Walters, and maybe LaRussa, better be looking for a new job next year.

There were only so many P5 jobs when Embree was hired, and when MacIntyre was hired, too.

CU would have to pay a coach $5+ million a year to take the job, if they fire another coach after just two years. Coaches want to know there is stability and support before they take a job.

And you think it has been hard to hire assistant coaches when there are no guaranteed contracts? ****can another coach after just two years and dump his entire coaching staff too, and you're going to have trouble bringing in decent assistant coaches, too.

I'm sure recruits will be really excited about committing to a program that is on it's THIRD coach in 5 years, too.

Going to be painful for a while - but just going to have to take some lumps for a few years.

I almost want to root for UMASS just HCMM is on the hot seat. I'll never actually do that cause I love my buffs. But just remember, next week Rick George will be showcasing the new additions to the stadium, He won't be able to raise another dime for those seats with this awful product. So I think HCMM will feel some pressure from RG here pretty quickly. If they don't turn it around fast, why build the stadium upgrades??? Since they're already being built, there is more pressure to make positive changes now.

Thankfully we no longer have the worst AD in the history of CFB (Bohn). RG swings a big D.

Maybe our football program and university are the problem. Hard to take 20 years off and then play catch up.

I don't know why i made that post. I hate that guy as much as you do.

I'm so goddamn frustrated.

Completely agree-You gotta put some of this on the failure that Embree and staff were as recruiters (and this goes back to Bohn for hiring him)-They whiffed on so many kids and pursued so many high risk kids that we're paying for it now.....This staff is having to recruit kids who they think can play right away.

It goes back farther than that.

Hate to agree here but this is spot on. May be time to move on. I am not sure this will get better in this generation. We seem to be throwing good money after bad. Any business would have fired the CEO and C-suite a decade ago. Benson and DiStephanoe are ultimately responsible. They aren't going anywhere and clearly a majority of the stakeholders do not care or the Regents would change.

There's more going on at CU than the football program. Isn't Benson regarded as a pretty solid fundraiser for the university? DiStephano: I don't know much about his track record.
