9/30 Press Conference

Spruce is up

"Told to team to keep going, we are on the brink." Closest he has been to winning football since he has been here.

Spruce and Sefo have really got a bond going. Chemistry has developed this year. Started against ASU game last year.

Defenses are frustrated after plays, come back and congratulate him after games. "Nice to have their respect"

"Best he has felt, in practice this year, today"

"Doesn't know if there is a better WR coach in the country than Coach Walters"

"Still all time yd leader in Pac-10 history. When ever he talks I tune in"

Interesting that MacIntyre always grabs a quick shower and wears a suit & tie to his post-game pressers but goes casual with this weekly Pac-12 press conference. I suppose it's a matter of what image he wants to present when he's more likely to be shown on the news broadcasts since post-game gets a ton more pub.

probably a function of getting himself under control too. Guy is definitely emotional.

-Is George Frazier becoming too valuable on Offense that you pull him out of the Defense?
-No. Not with how we are at DE

Reed starting to go full speed this week. May still be a week or 2 away.

Spruce, needs to be in the Biletnikoff conversation, Heisman is a big conversation, he isn't sure on that one. Should be 1st team all pac-12

Love how MacIntyre responded to the questions about his demeanor on the sideline. Talked about being passionate, the players appreciating that, and how it's important to be who you are.

I totally agree. 1st quality of a successful leader is that the person is true to himself.

Great quote at the end of the exchange:

"I'll climb any mountain and take any challenge on. That's how I've been and how I'll always be."

On Adkins, Ankle has been bothering him a bit, played better last week and on saturday.

For Nelson, Catch against USC last year and catch against Cal in OT where he went over top the DB really stand out to him as amazing catches.

Nelson started making plays last half of year last year and has continued that this year. Recognized how to use his own abilities and how he fits in the offense.

Evan White, did some good things. Has been playing mostly ST he will now be playing more on D.

Mannion, under ranked because of the different style. Mannion not as flashy. Doesn't wow you with his feet. True pocket passer. Strong arm, can make all the throws.

Team has come out ready to practice, focused.

Comparable to his duo's at

Ole Miss, Manning and Collins
San Jose, Fales and Grigsby

If Sefo and Nelson keep it up they will be in the record books and players, fans remember here for a long time.

OSU missing Cooks. Was one of the receivers that if you threw it to him, he would come down with or knock it down.

Storm Woods emergence is a reason for Mannion's lower numbers

Sefo is showing maturity in his reads. Not looking just for Spruce anymore. Doing a good job seeing the field. Understanding Defenses. Understanding protections better, able to move and get the ball off because he is recognizing where people are coming from and where people might be open.

More scouts at practice, but not asking about Nelson because he is a Junior. (I am guessing since they won't know if he is leaving or not until January they don't bother)

bull****. That said, the idea of one more year of Sefo to Spruce is a nice one.

Working on keeping team up and energized on the sidelines vs sitting. Can't be ready to fight unless you are mentally and physically invested. Has to be full go all the time. Has to teach the habit and mentality.

Missed Tedric on KO coverage as well. KO coverage is improving, but still giving up too many yards.

Addison did well for not practicing most of the week. A little rusty at the beginning. Heat affected him from the turf, did a good job though for being cleared late in the week.

Feed died, conference over I guess.

No doubt they are watching/taking notes, just don't think they are asking coach questions about him yet.

By rule, I don't think they can discuss underclassmen in relation to the draft before the player declares.

It's a big "nudge-nudge wink-wink".
