LOS ANGELES – The University of Colorado women’s soccer team fell to No. 1 UCLA 1-0 on Sunday afternoon at Drake Stadium.

The Buffaloes held the top ranked team in the country scoreless in the first half, but the Bruins took the lead in the 64[SUP]th[/SUP] minute. Sam Mewis scored the game winner with the assist coming from Zoey Goralski.

Shots were 9-7 UCLA, on goal 3-3. Yes, we have a defense. This wasn't over until it was over, as Madi Krauser put a shot on goal with seven seconds left in the match. Nobody has held UCLA to nine shots, or to three on goal. In fairness to UCLA, being #1 means that you get everybody's best game, and they seem to have gotten ours. But they have played some very high-powered teams that, at least statistically, didn't do as well against them as we did. Maryland took no shots, a good San Diego team got one shot, and North Carolina no shots on goal. #11 Pepperdine put two shots on goal in the first five minutes, then amassed all of one more shot in the final 85 minutes. UCLA took 34 shots at #14/18 Arizona State. Was anybody there in person, or able to catch a video? I was watching the VolleyBuffs sweep #14 Arizona State.

I was just listening to the audio feed while watching the volleyball match
