**** this ****. I'm flying in for this one and was looking forward to some fall afternoon tailgating.

11:00 ****ing a.m. two weeks in a row ? Really ?

trying to look at the positives. struggling.

we'll have 10.5 hours of sunlight and the game, with travel and tailgating, will take up >= 4 hours. So > 1/3 of the daylight hours will be spent on the game (I make this point because I'm better at watching football in the dark than I am at hiking in the dark).

it doesn't conflict with either the Panic show or the Bob Dylan show that night (oh sh**, just realized that I lose an hour's sleep between the Saturday night show and the Sunday show too).

it shouldn't be too cold. it also shouldn't be too hot.

the game time won't be a factor in pumping up the visiting team. comments about UW-West sleep walking through this one might be dead on.

the 11AM kickoff gives grump AB'ers something to bitch about besides the team's performance, coaching and student fan engagement.

You can't even really do a brunch tailgate with an 11:00 kickoff. A noon kickoff is bad enough, but 11:00 is nearly unworkable.

Sucks, this does.

Just got the email from the AD lots open at 8am for both UCLA and UW games. Thats about 2 hours of tailgating before UW before making your way over to Folsom, if you want to see ralphie.

Personally I love the noon and 11 am kickoffs. Of course I don't tailgate much and am typically in bed around 9 pm so it is right up my alley. Plus if Colorado wins, I get more of the weekend to enjoy it. I do have sympathy though for the tailgate crowd.

Crap, I was already pissed about the start before realizing it us the day after Halloween. There are going to be literally no students at that game. At least give us a noon start so you don't have to get there at nine AM to even think about tailgating.

This is likely some fallout from the ADs bitching about so many late starts.

This week, two 8pm kickoffs and one at 8:45pm MT
Next week, two 8:30pm kickoffs and one at 9pm MT

Attendance for that is going to be brutal. Especially the students. Hell, we're asking college students to get to a football game on a Saturday morning that follows the Halloween parties? I'm a sports nut and if I was in college the best I would have probably done would be to watch the game on tv then make a decision on whether to head to the stadium at halftime if the Buffs were playing well, my head had stopped hurting, my stomach had settled and any companionship from the night before had cleared out.

hands don't clear out

I once saw three sunrises without any sleep in between. Cool story, right brah?

The students are pussies if they don't push through. The early start is a good thing, to my way of thinking.

As an aside, I was in Boulder the weekend before Halloween last year, and saw a so-called "walk of shame" (society's judgment...not mine) involving a costume. In this case a clown. It seemed her big decision was whether or not to wear her big floppy shoes home on a Saturday morning, or to go barefoot.

Kids -- stay away from white powders or you'll end up like Orr.

No idea. Wasn't it him that had some haunting thing with a clown? Been a long time ago.

It was The Walrus who was haunted by the clown. He was in Belgium at the time, but went to Afghanistan after that. Then he just disappeared.

iirc, he was raped by a clown and was so traumatized by the horror/humor of the event that he went into seclusion, leaving AllBuffs.

I got the impression that the clown-rape was going on even while he was still posting (even during posting, I suspect), so I doubt that was the reason he left.
