MacIntyre: Pac-12 South is tougher than the SEC West

Colorado coach Mike MacIntyre is trying to resurrect a program in the midst of what is arguably college football's most treacherous minefield. He knows the dangers of the Pac-12 South firsthand; his Buffaloes are camped out in the cellar of it."I think [the Pac-12 South] is the toughest division in college football, period," he proclaimed on Tuesday's conference call.Uh oh. Those will almost certainly be considered fighting words by many in the Southeast, home of the rugged SEC West.

Okay. We all know that I feel that the SEC is generally overrated (as we see with Arkansas getting AP votes. C'mon!), but I don't really love my coach weighing in on that debate.

WTF does this mean?

When accounting for the total amount of poll votes as well as a teams' FPI, the SEC West sum is 97.3, greater than the Pac-12's 90.3.

Just ****ing win one in conference, Mac.
In case you haven't noticed we're the reason the P12 South ISN'T as tough as the SECW.

Sounds desperate.

Excuses:rolling_eyes:

I would have more wins if the teams weren't so good. smh

"I think [the Pac-12 South] is the toughest division in college football, period," he proclaimed on Tuesday's conference call.

"The [Pac-12 South] is very comparable to the SEC West, and I think people can argue that both ways," he said. "I think we have better quarterbacks. That always makes for a better team, when you have a better quarterback."

What is the issue??

Does anyone else feel like the whole "CU decimated by injuries" and "Pac-12 is soooooooo good" has been ramped up by CU in recent weeks?

Do you think MacIntyre will pull out more stats after the Oregon game, to show how improved the team is over last year? Maybe he will have some emails from parents of players on the team or something to share.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but hasn't he already done that?

I guess that's it. We've heard this **** for way too long. I do think the team and the coaching is much improved. Mac stepped into a nightmare situation, but he just needs to keep his head down and grind until the team wins some games. The fan base is tired of excuses. I'm fine with saying that the team is better, but I really don't want to hear any more excuses. The point is to win and this team has had its chances to do so this year.

Better or not, Pac power shift southwards is happening quicker than most anyone expected.

SEC West: #1 Alabama, #4 Mississippi St, #8 Ole Miss, #14 Auburn. 7-4 Texas A&M, 7-4 LSU, 5-5 Arkansas

Pac South: #9 UCLA, #13 Arizona St, #15 Arizona, #17 Utah, #19 USC. 2-8 Colorado.

Definitely seems like an excuse. I suppose he's got to have one. It blows that we are at the same place again. Next year is the year...

I would need to understand the context of the statement. Was he outright asked which he thinks is better, or did he proactively put it out there? The former is harmlessly answering a question the latter could be viewed as an excuse, but I would still need to hear the Tuesday press conference in its entirety with full context to really galvanize that opinion.

Ugh, yeah we know it's a tough division. Instead of worrying about that, find a way to be in the mix within it. We've left a few W's on the field this year, that **** needs to stop.

I want to line up half of Allbuffs and slap them all in descending order.
