If we have so little talent...

Mac2 is a really good coach, but the talent isn't there. The team has to play mistake-free football to win a P12 game because of the talent gap, and it's hard to play mistake-free football for an entire game. Answer.

Sigh, we just wrapped up an 0-9 conference slate. Sunshine pumping probably needs to take a short hiatus until signing day.

I see young talent, but they're not big enough yet and I think we see this the most at DE. I also see a team without veteran leadership. Both should be improved next season.

Hopefully we can not have as many injuries at one position next year as we did this year at safety.

Agreed. I just saw "Colo goes winless in conference for the first time since 1898" on the scroll during the Alabama game.

It's more aimed at the people who seem to be really down on MacIntyre because a lot of those same people are the ones who say we have so little talent.

People are mostly down on Mac because his staff had not shown the ability to recruit highly rated athletes . Get it?

I think that, maybe, fair and reasonable analysis is fine. All of these emotional diatribes are over the top.

Mike Mac is a better than average coach who I'd love to see what he could do with good to great players. If he was coaching UCLA right now they would have a better record than what Mora has done.

Not from some posts in some of the threads after the game...

We just finished what could arguably be the worst season in the school's history. You cannot expect people to be giving reasoned assessments after this game. I think for the most part people realize that Mac is at least a decent coach and is probably pretty good. But there is a glaring talent issue that must be addressed.

I mean, it's not like people just started saying MacIntyre is a bad coach, or have stopped having faith in him, after this game. So I'm asking those people why we were in the games and in a position to win all but two or three conference games?

And before anyone starts, I want Neinas and Baer gone, so no I am not advocating for no changes or anything. The defense when Awuzie and Thompson were healthy sucked, it sucked even more when they went down. If the defense had been anywhere near the offense before the injuries then Baer should be retained, but it wasn't and the defense needs to improve for the team to win in the Pac 12. Neinas, don't really need to explain.

Mac has well organized game plans and Lindgren is a budding superstar as OC.

Talent's mediocre.

Being in games at half time is not a ****ing nuff, man. Some of these games you claim we could or should have won we lost by 3 scores.

Our defense sucks because half the guys out there should be playing for schools like northern illinois or san jose st.

nope ... this was not arguably the worst season in CU's history... Embree's last season (2 short years ago) or 1984 when CU went 1-10 (because Iowa St missed a 27 yd FG) or 1980 when CU went 1-10 losing to Drake 41-22 in Boulder were worse .... Embree's last season gets my vote

I think the talent is their; it is just a year too young right now. But no excuses next year; the team is going to have to get wins.

I'd say it's arguable. We didn't win a conference game and got smoked by csu. I'd agree with you that it probably wasn't the worst season, but I think an argument can be made.

Mine too.

And the discouraging thing, it does not seem that our recruiting is fixing the issue.

I think this is the most fair take. Do you think the talent is there to get to a bowl game in the Pac 12?

Cal, OSU, UCLA, UW, Utah...we lost all five of those games by a combined 30 points. Two of them went to 2OT. UW was by far the outlier of the five since we lost by 15, but you know we **** all over ourselves in the 4th quarter. We were in a position to win every one of those games I listed. Cal, UCLA, and UW all have a good amount more talent than we do, especially UW and UCLA.

And no, our defense has enough players to be a respectable defense, and certainly enough to not give up nearly 40 ****ing points a game. The Baer experiment is not working.

Yep. We are a very sophomore and freshman skewed team where as a team like Utah has a ton of Seniors, and I think that's where we saw the difference today.

Another sunshine thread from superfan. Please tell us again how things are getting better in your expert view.

In a retrospect, a discouraging thing is that one of Mac's qualifications for the job was that he had nearly beaten a juggernaut Stanford while at SJSt.

I guess I'm just finished with excuses and near wins. At the end of the day, I think it's reasonable to say that wins are wins and losses are losses. I don't care how the wins come, but they must.

Care to answer the question? I mean, if you can't see progress then that is you refusing to see progress.

This all is true, but the reason we were in the UCLA, Arizona, and Utah game is partially because they overlooked us and gave some 'C' grade effort.

Our recruiting sucks. That's why people are unhappy. Stop with the straw men and the "almost wins". The gap between "almost" winning a game and actually winning a game is not necessarily small.

See my first and second responses to Daaah

I saw progress, we didn't lose every game by 34. 5 weeks ago that was great. 5 weeks later I realize we are a crap team that has reached its ceiling. I see nothing on this team that says 2015 is any different.

So a team that starts is full of underclassmen in the two deep isn't likely to improve? And no, not every team in the conference is going to improve.
