Tonight is pretty much dog****. We're not into "Big Monday" season yet.

Can Yale follow up with its UConn win by winning at a struggling Florida? That would be too awesome.

UCSB @ SMU and North Dakota @ Minnesota are potentially not horrible games, but that's the best we've got tonight.

Looking forward to Tuesday when Villanova takes on Illinois.

Providence, a preseason presumed Big Dance squad, lost at home to Brown by 10.

One thing that we never mention about last year was our lack of bad losses. It provided no excuse to leave us out. Neither Wyoming nor Georgia will be a "bad" loss. We're going to face some bad teams in Pac play this year and DePaul's record won't end up being pretty even if they're improved. We need decent wins first and foremost, but not losing to poor teams is immensely important. Take Providence for instance. They've got a nice win over Notre Dame, but have since gone and lost to Brown by double digits along with a loss to a weak Boston College team. Committee will accept bad losses, but only if you've gone out and proven you can beat top teams.

I bet Providence fans wish they had Josh Fortune playing this season even more than we do.

 He'd have Providence pushing for 2nd or 3rd in BE instead of the 5th or so (and likely bubble if this inconsistency keeps up) they are headed for.

What is wrong with Michigan? Lost tonight to E Michigan. That's a pretty good MAC team, but come on.

In other news, Creighton looks like they may finally put away South Dakota in the 2nd OT. That's like the CU game against TX Southern from a couple years ago. No excuse for playing like dog****, but get out of there with a damn win at the end of the night.

Don't know what got into Michigan. Wolverines visit Arizona next and then face solid SMU. That record is falling apart quickly.

Creighton is a mystery to me. Weren't supposed to be very good this year, yet they've beaten Oklahoma and won @ Nebraska. But they've lost to Ole Miss and got beat down pretty good by Tulsa. And now tonight's 2OT win over South Dakota. Inconsistent.

Watching the ball movement and talent in IU Louisville game, impressive. Yes ACC is going to be over the top competitive. Wow. Guard play so very solid.

IU has a Couple of really good youngsters, but not fully baked yet.

What has gotten into the Ivy League in the last few days?

Columbia up 25-23 at Kentucky at half (I don't care if they lose by 30)

Yale wins at UConn

Brown wins at Providence by 10

watched arizona take michigan behind the woodshed in a big way today.

the announcers were talking about the p12-- they noted the Buffs have disappointed thus far and that no one looks to be in the same class as arizona.

That's fair.

I might make the point that only about 5 or 6 teams in the nation look like they're in the same class as Arizona, though. I'd probably put the following teams there at this point in the season: Kentucky, Duke, Virginia, Villanova, Wisconsin and Louisville.

There's 3 different wildcats in that group.

Cinncinatti with a huge comeback against Nebraska. They were down 16-4 with about 7 minutes left in the first half. They ended up with 21 and now have the lead late in the second. The Big Ten looks bad outside of Wisconsin and tOSU. I'm not sold on Maryland - let's see how they do on the road against Okie Lite.

Illinois could have a nice season. Groce needs to win there b

This just might be the year for head scratching losses. NC State dropped one at home today to Wofford. Not a bad Wofford team by any stretch, but... come on, man.
