Only Cal has more starters returning without having to replace a QB. Does this mean the youth excuse goes away next year?

Having 9 on Defense bodes well for this team, although I imagine at least 2-3 of those starters from last year will be backups.

Was the hype on UCLA a year too early? Obviously, they will miss Hundley, but that team is primed for a big run if they get adequate Qantas play.

An annual tradition; somebody saying this will be the year UCLA breaks out.

yup. If they take their speed pills, size pills, and penis enlargement pills like they're supposed to we will be awesome.

Our starters are not the same as others' starters. And no guarantee last year's starters are next year's starters. I mean, we hope not, right? Otherwise this talk about improving our athleticism is just a bunch of bs.

I could do his job with the talent he has and get the same results.

Could you? UCLA has been pretty ****ty with spurts of decency for quite awhile now. Pretty sure 10 win seasons aren't the norm there and never have been. They have a lot of AD issues similar to what we do.

I don't know, maybe post Hundley he falls on his face, but I think he's done pretty decently there. Obviously room to do better, but anytime you win 3 straight vs USC you're doing something right.

I think a few of the returning starters get moved to the bench due to injuries and ineligibility from last season coming back. That makes it all the better getting guys like Bell(hopefully), Hennington, and Kafovalu back in the mix.

At least we will have some options/depth, especially along both lines for once. TE, LB depth are still very very thin.

Unless Sefo turns the corner with turnovers and the OL turns the corner with blocking I can't see us making a a bowl game. We will win more than 2 though.

Aren't 9 out of 11 defensive starters returning a cause for concern for CU?

Eh, I bet all but one or two are underclassmen coupled with more competition along the lines. Injuries hurt a lot to

I'd prefer we at least half the number of teams that scored 38+ on us.

Then some of those other things you mention take care of themselves.

A lot were underclassman starters. Most of that 9, I think. I've got more confidence in significant progression from freshmen and sophomores than I would if we were returning a bunch of juniors who had the season our defense did in 2014. Plus, of course, the return of so many guys from injury/discipline and the addition of 3 JUCOs. There's reason for confidence that we'll see significant improvement.

RE: UCLA and Mora - that school has had a hard time cracking elite status for as long as I can remember. Even when Terry Donohue was there, they still had difficulty getting past USC. They have talent, and I believe Mora is a good coach. I do think they're soft, though. And I don't know what they'll do with the new QB. Assuming Rosen does go there, he's still a Freshman. That's a lot to put on a Freshman quarterback.

I thought Rosen enrolled at semester?

Rosen enrolled early and will participate in spring practice. I saw some article awhile ago that said Little Rick was the only competition. They have another QB on the roster, but he's apparently not very good.
