Small but strong North/South runner who is just playing RB for the first time this year (was a CB last year). Local kid with a brother who's currently a student at CU. Had a great game this weekend (176 rushing, 29 receiving, 3 TDs) as they almost upset #2 Fairview. I know the kid. Think Danny Woodhead. Would commit if offered even a grayshirt.

Like that local kids are interested in us.

He would have to really show something big to warrant an offer at this point, especially since we have a small RB ahead of him in Lindsay.

Might be a good candidate for a PWO though. M2 has already proven that walk-ons get a fair look on this team.

Fossil Ridge High School in Fort Collins. Measurables certainly would be an issue for getting Pac-12 offers but if an electronically timed 40 is close to that reported time I would be intrigued. Did he camp anywhere last summer?

Buff Fan 123, your 1st post is to let us know about the kid?

Andrew, is that you? :smile2:

If it's dad, a friend, or the kid himself posting I have no problem.

Coaches don't come here looking for kids to make offers to. No harm in making us aware of a kid who isn't likely to get a CU offer but who likes CU.

Might end up as a PWO, might end up getting a scholly offer from a smaller in-state school.

Nice to know a little about these kids even if they don't end up at CU.

123, keep us up to date please.

Wasn't trying to be a jerk, hope it didn't come off that way.

I don't think so. Between a new coaching staff and a position change, I think he was just working with his high school team. One of the reasons he's not on the radar of a lot of schools.

Welcome to AllBuffs and thanks for the profile. I hope Andrew reaches his dream to play at the next level. We were pulling for Q. Drennan and we'll pull for your guy too.

On that note, we've toyed with the idea of having a CO Prep recruiting board here. There's definitely a lot of interest in the in-state guys, whether they end up at CU or Pueblo or Mines or out-of-state. But it's not a good fit for a lot of reasons. This is a CU board, not a State of Colorado board. So where we are is that we will always pay more attention to in-state prospects due to the interest level of our members, it's also not in our DNA to start being expected to post things like "I'm so happy to see that so-and-so is realizing his life-long dream to play for Nebraska". It does no good and changes AB in a bad way if we start getting into fights with the parents of high school prospects from CO... and we would if we moved any farther in that direction with our content.

Agree with this completely, we are about the Buffs here. There are other outlets for the rest of that stuff.

As I mentioned I welcome information on kids if they have an interest in CU, even if CU isn't actively pursuing them but I don't want to hear about the kid who's dream is to play at Ft. Hays State or who is a Nub lock due to family ties.

A kid with an interest in CU matters because he might become a PWO.

I hope that we can get to the point where the majority of kids in Colorado are actively hoping for a CU offer.

Saw Andrew last night at a high school basketball game. He's emailed the CU coaches every week since the season started and never got a response. He received an official, unconditional preferred walk-on offer from Auburn yesterday that he'll likely accept.

That's really cool for him. Glad it happened!
