Sure seems like it. Seven of the Rivals Top 10 are SEC plus USC, Florida St. and Ohio St. It seems to me there is a real correlation between recruiting success and media (ESPN) hype. The signing day press conferences have become part of the hype. Do you think some 4/5 kid is going to go on national television on signing day and pull a CU hat out of his bag? No way. I've been watching recruiting evolve for 35 years and the disparity between the haves and have nots has never been bigger.

I have seen it twice - Marcus Houston and Darrel Scott...so it can happen at CU - we just need to get back to that level. The top 10 have real advantages but I think you can be very competitive if you are consistently in the top 30. The trick is to have special playmakers especially at QB.

I think what this means is the Pac 12 must work on it's kegel exercises to get tighter with the South.

We've been there before. We just need to get our **** together and we can be within striking distance of getting back there again.

My post is obviously a case of an old guy yearning for the good old days when girls were girls and men were men. Honestly, I don't know if its better now or worse. It is definitely different.

I like to look at it this way, five star impact player, future star by soph. yr,has size, speed, height. But, perfunctory after that. Four star, in the IN CROWD like five, has most of five but the spark or 40. Three star, undeveloped either;height or speed, new position switch, transfer, the life of the party without the tude!

I dunno, on that national signing day commercial for ESPN a Buffs hat was the fourth one shown... right before the camera speeds up so we're moving up in the world.

I wish you posted more often man.

Didn't you start the day off saying you didn't care?
That whole thing pissed me off. I was totally taken out of context. I care a lot. My point was that in a couple of days, an entire year of following this class and watching it develop will be forgotten and we'll be on to the next year's class and that the guys we signed today, for the most part, won't contribute for a couple of years. And next week we will start the process all over again. That was all I meant. And then good old Duff apparently threatened to ban me or something, which was total bull****.

I totally get what you are saying.

You must get really excited for the MLB draft!

I have never banned anyone, cupcake. You made a dumb post in a thread that was specifically for NSD updates that basically **** all over the thread because you felt you really needed to get some generic bull**** message off your chest ON NSD IN A THREAD ABOUT NATIONAL SIGNING DAY ANNOUNCEMENTS. Next time, just avoid posting if it annoys you that much.

Forgive me oh holy one. I didn't want to start an entire thread on that subject and mistakenly put it there. I didn't read the rules before I posted, your highness.

At least that thread did not have the "woe is me" attitude permeating in the OP of this thread.

Again, it isn't "woe is me." It's that the face of college football is changing. And it is really lucky for CU that we are in a power conference. The Boise States of the world will soon be relegated to a much less hopeful station in the football hierarchy. I still fully believe CU can become a perennial top 25 program. My belief in that hasn't changed. As for having a shot at a National Championship.......
