Does CU still have openings?

Every year, there are over-signings and dismissals. In the 2009 class, that's how CU ended up with Paul Richardson in its recruiting class. There are also spring graduates from the JUCO ranks. And then the transfers that happen after the spring.

Finally, there are the late qualifiers who couldn't take OVs or sign yesterday but can make strides in the classroom and on test scores to make it on the academic side with a late push. Or simply guys who have been missed (Why didn't Whittier Christian TE Noah Evans have an offer? hudl)

Considering that the Buffs were apparently ready to take a couple commitments yesterday if they'd come through, I would assume that means the work on the 2015 class isn't quite done.

I hope so, specifically LB and WR. As nice of a surprise as Carr was yesterday, the drama ending at 8am left me yearning more.

I am thinking one more schollie remaining? not counting attrition. Do need to add a middle LB, and a WR would be nice (that are ready to play now)

Buffs have a small senior class in '15. They need impact LBs mainly (Hockaday wasn't that type) and have REC depth in Fields, Bobo, Ross, Dunston, Donovan Lee, MacIntyre, Oliver and Jan but could use another impact guy there. Even if they had got Kelly, he would have seen limited snaps at best. They don't need to press.

If they can find a jc backer, db, and maybe another wr, I'd take a chance but only if they were impact guys. Otherwise, just leave it be I guess.

Is Blandin an option still or is he a qualifying casualty?
That would be an interesting one if he could qualify. He didn't sign anywhere yesterday, but his coach said that he would sign somewhere soon. Mac and Walters are still following him.

My guess is we see something happen. We've got a couple spots open. It won't open up unless something special comes along, I would hope. I would personally like to see a 5th year senior/JUCO OLB.

Blandin would provide the immediate contribution at a position of need. Has great size and could allow Fields to move into the slot more often? Mac has said he wants to RS all the frosh guys, so if they add another guy, I would hope it'd be a JUCO kid ready to play immediately.

pass. blandin just isn't very good.

Does Bobo get a bigger role this year?

I'd assume so. Limiting factor in 2014 was knowledge of the playbook and then getting wrecked at USC at the point in the season when he was starting to break out.

Blandin couldn't qualify. Bobo is talented. Just needs more opportunities and to get play book grasped. Spruce, Fields, Bobo, Donovan Lee and Ross is all you need and they have more guys beyond that. No REC the Buffs were in on is an immediate impact guy for Buffs any more than what Fields was and I would guess not even Tyler McCulloch this year.

90-1000, 85-1000, 50-650, 40-450, 35-400 is Top 5 guys.

Let's tap the brakes here. Ross and Lee have not shown much on the field. And Bobo is still a question mark. I am okay with not reaching for a WR, but depth is a big question.

Beyond me how you can mention Ross but not Walker in a post here. Ross?

Lee Walker is someone to keep an eye on. Excellent speed.

Agree, but he's out for the spring as I understand. Also need to consider the nearly forgotten Jay MacIntyre; he reminds me of Julian Edelman or Danny Amendola, in size and athleticism and could really surprise.

What about Awini? Has he moved yet or still trying to be a QB?

Still competing at QB.

I think he'd be one hell of a WR, though. Roster balance would look so much better if Awini was a junior WR and then if Ross would move to CB into that empty soph class there.

Okay, they are tapped but let's keep in mind Ross was the only frosh that got playing time. He decided to RS with coaches because he knew he wouldn't get the snaps. They definitely need to add depth, but this is still speed and potential wise the best group since Hackett-McCoy led the Buffs. Lee is better than DD Goodson and he will get his snaps this year which should help make his numbers as good as DDs were or better.

Anyway, we were talking 5th year seniors and Tim Hamilton of Central Michigan has good size and speed and maybe he really likes Tumpkin.

Or maybe Moses Saucedo from SJSU. Tore his ACL and missed season but played for Mac.

I was just looking at guys that would make sense in that they have played for coaches on staff.

Ross played and did practically nothing and you are glossing over the RS decision quite a bit. Lee may end up being decent, but he was JAG last year.

Assuming no new recruits by Fall, does a walk-on or two get the available scholarship(s)? In my mind, Moeller should be on scholarship, maybe Awini as well. I understand it's unlikely since neither is a senior and there will be so few scholarships available next year, but Moeller's going to be on the 2 deep at safety and all over on special teams.
