Notice the language about Hughes. What if there is no Hughes in 2020? Just idle lawyer thoughts.

I thought the same thing. The deal specifies "Hughes Stadium". I don't think that's a fight worth fighting, but it's kind of funny. I don't think CSU can afford to pay a visitor $1 MM to play up there regardless.

That's great stuff. Good find.

I'd laugh my ass off if RG were to tell them that they had to play the game at Hughes, AND they had to pay the $1MM. Where are they going to find $1MM to pay us? Let's make them keep that old stadium around and play their biggest game of the year there - and the last game they'll ever play CU.

Delicious.

What would we owe them if we wanted out of that game?

If the series does last that long, CU should turn down the option to purchase any tickets and take the $1M. Make it really hurt.

Please make them play it at Hughes. The meltdown would be spectacular. Unless they are scared to play us there.

I think it's worth it just so you have CSU's lawyers talking up how important the CU game is to CSU.

couldn't they just name the new one hughes for one game and rename it later?

Cute, but nah.

Yeah. As I understand it, "Hughes Stadium" at the time the contract was signed referred to a specific venue. Hughes could be re-named without materially impacting the agreement, but having CU play in a different venue than specified does materially impact things.

That is funny. Little bro doesn't want to budge on the contract, fine. Let's exercise it to the letter

I've read all of the anti CSU posts and to a point I get it. Many CU fans want the series to end, or (at the very least) play the games in the home team stadium each year leading up to and after 2020. That is if the series is contracted into the future.

For the games played in Ramie land, just paint their new stadium (or Hughes if need be) Black and Gold with Buff fans. It could be a hell of a great time tailgating on their turf, then take the win, their money and head for home knowing you taught them something about big time college football.

Just saying.

This thread is tongue-in-cheek, Surveyor. If CSU ends up willing to pony up the $1MM and RG doesn't buy out the game, we'll do exactly what you are saying and buy at least 1/3 of capacity up there.

now that is a game I wouldn't miss.
Custom comemorative t-shirts would be essential.

If they get premium seating there, will there be a "Skryker Box"? Allbuffs Junta must use their millions to donate a big commemorative bush for Skryker's Box.

stryker's box deserves a nicely trimmed bush.
