University of Colorado starting defensive lineman Joshua Tupou has been arrested after police say he assaulted three men during a brawl at a house party last month that spilled out onto the streets of University Hill.

Sounds like from the story JT got some form tackling practice in, and Awini didn't knock anybody's dick in the dirt. You have to look at the bright side. Also, no rocks involved, I see improvements that are never going to show up in the box score.

It's crazy that only football players are being charged. I find it hard to believe that Tupou busted in and just started massacring people. Also, this Tetreault character sounds very punchable. You can hardly blame JT.

The thing that annoys me whenever I hear about stuff like this is the fact that there's probably a brawl that takes place every weekend somewhere in Boulder that involves CU students in some manner, shape or form. We only hear about it when it involves a member of the football team. So while I agree that he needed to figure out a way to avoid the situation, there's a definite double standard at play when it comes to these situations.

It's early, but broken bones in someones face doesn't sound like a whole lot of nothing.
If a 6'3" 325 man is on-top of you punching you in the face you're going to sustain a whole lot more than what this kid did. If something serious actually happened we wouldn't be hearing about it almost a month later. If JT beat the living hell out of someone at his size, and the other is smaller than me, you're not walking away. Same incident where the kids dad accused Josh of beating his kid with a 2x4.

Smells like bull**** to me, and people I've talked to say this isn't much.

Let's hope you're right. If the complainant is a serial "victim" then the DA will likely cut a deferred prosecution deal.

Broken bones should trigger automatic 1st degree assault charge, especially in Boulder where the humorless Stan Garnett (That dude ever smile?) reigns as DA.

Still, he's better than "Our girls" Mary Keenan, but not by much and Keenan set a pretty low bar.

I got the giggles real bad about the 10 second mark.

Voice of experience? Do we want to know?

Also, sounds like Tetrault would be used to having his nose broken by now. Why do people invite him to parties? Why does he always seem to be on the receiving end of the nose-breaker? Can someone have a glass nose? Someone get us the rest of the story.

We can't have nice things. :(

meh. A certain amount of this kind of thing should be expected. It happens at every school. In fact, I'm almost kind of glad it happened here. We've had a long run of good behavior from the football team. The last time we had anything like this happen, it was when that douchenozzle fusker asshat turncoat got in a brawl. That was like three years ago. I want my D-linemen to be nasty sonsabiches. In the grand scheme of things, this isn't that big of a deal. It will be interesting to see what happens to him. At a big time school, he'd be suspended for the first five minutes of the spring game.

This is also true

I found this part of the article amusing:

Samson Kofavalu, who was present, but not involved in the incident, seemed unimpressed stating "that wasn't even a brick fence".
