Today at 4:47 MDT Alfred Williams on 104.3 the Fan let it slip that they are doing a 30 for 30 on the Buffs for the 25th Anniversary of the NC. The podcast should be up later.

That's awesome, but every championship in every sport has a 25th anniversary. What's the unique story line here for a national audience?

They ever gonna do the Sal movie? 30 for 30 will be cool though, they do a good job with that.

Sal, 5th Down, Osborne ****ing us, back-to-back title games against ND, the clipping call, McCartney's conflict with the school over Promise Keeper stuff, etc. Lots of story lines. More than any other championship season/team? I don't know, but plenty of stuff to make a compelling documentary.

That is great. Hopefully they can plug us as a team that is on the rise and would be an ideal destination for any top 150 player.

What? You don't think they will?

Yes, makes for an interesting story to me, but I'm guessing most every championship team has similar kinds stories, interesting characters, overcoming adversity, close calls, etc. Take OU in the late 80s with scumbag Switzer and his criminals, The Boz, etc. QB in jail for selling coke (one of my favorite qbs of all time: Jamelle Holieway...a wizard running the option).

I don't know, but i'll watch for sure.

Didn't ESPiN do something on the gang ties of some those of those kids years ago? Might dig that stuff up again.

Also assume a fair amount on Sal.

Bump, as Alfred Williams just spoke about his interview with the producers in Boulder this past weekend. He said it will have a lot to do with Sal and just the meteoric rise of the program.

When I first saw the thread title, my reaction was, "Uh oh!" I'm always expecting the worst, it appears.

My first thought when hearing about a 30 for 30 on CU was that it would center around the Barnett years with a tagline of "The downfall of a proud program" or something.

Even that wouldn't be so bad. 30 for 30's all end on an uplifting note. Even a hatchet job on the Barnett years would still end with a solid 10 minutes on the improvements the Buffs are making and how they eye a return to prominence under HCMM.

Lol or it would have just ended with mentioning a 2-10 season and our first winless conference record

Did ESPN inherit the Born to Lead film about Sal or is that still coming out on it's own? Seems like been waiting for years for that doc to come out. Did Al say when this was going to air? Assuming towards the end of this summer maybe
