BOULDER—The University of Colorado football team along with its student section, the Folsom Frenzy, will for the first time hold a Field Day for CU students at Folsom Field at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, May 1, during which time the Buffs will also unveil new uniforms for the 2015 football season and hold the department’s biennial Garage Sale.

The field day, an opportunity for CU students to blow off steam before finals week, will allow students to interact with the football team with competitive field stations, football skill stations or the ability to just hang out and play yard games.

At 4:30 p.m., coach Mike MacIntyre will unveil the brand new 2015 CU Football Uniforms to the CU students and football team at the same time. Voice of the Buffs Mark Johnson will also be on hand to emcee the event. All fans are welcome inside Folsom Field for the unveiling, however only CU students can participate in field day activities.

Field Day activities will include competitive stations like the 40-yard dash, vertical jump, longest field goal and more with winners for both male and female students for each station. Football skills stations include quarterback, running back, wide receiver and tackle drills. Early arriving students will receive an exclusive t-shirt with an outline of Folsom Field along with free food.

The Garage Sale will be open to the public from 12-6 p.m. and include surplus items from CU’s equipment room including shoes, jerseys, competition and warm-up gear from CU’s varsity teams and much more.

If memory serves, the Garage Sale has always bee held inside Balch. I assume that's where it will be this year.

Who is going?

I think I'll be there.

My plan is to stop by with my fam after we pick the duder up from school to be there for the 12:00 garage sale. I'll then come back a little after 4:00 for the uniform reveal.

I'm going to try to bug out from work early to catch the unveil.. don't think I can catch the garage sale tho.

Garage Sale will go until 6pm, so you'll make it. It may just be a little picked over by the time you get there.

What do they normally sell kind of looking for some helmets and basketball shorts

Excess cleats, practice-worn clothing, workout gear. Just about everything surplus that they used in the past but is no longer current.

I'll legit send a guy a flashlight if they can find me a pair of black and gold Nike cleats size 11.

FYI - CU Mens Lax is playing CSU tomorrow @ 4PM on the Kittredge fields in the semifinals of the MCLA playoffs. If you're in Boulder and looking for something to do and kill some time, this would be a great place to swing by and cheer on the Buffs either before or after the jersey reveal!

Bummer. That time is when drive line starts at school for my kids. Additionally I have a tile guy working on my house. I is sad.

Would it be wrong as a coach to ditch your team's last lacrosse game of the season to go?

So the garage sale was a much bigger deal than I anticipated. I'd never been, but thank God I'm friends with RumblinBuff (who cleaned up by the way). He was there about 45 minutes early and we were still in the second group to be let in. The line was ridiculously large and when we left at 1 there were still at least 100 people outside waiting to get in (to then wait in the inside line). Gotta say, if you're anything smaller than a XXL, it wasn't pretty. @RK was in the first group in and he said the men's large table was pretty picked over. The XL table wasn't much better and even the XXL looked pretty picked over. I was able to find a few decent athletic shirts, but not much. And naturally, I ended up talking myself into a helmet. They also had a bunch of old media guides and VHS tapes they were giving away.

Oh, and I was able to get a Big XII Champs shirt from 2001 thanks to Rumblin & RK.

What were the VHS tapes of?

What were the VHS tapes of?

Rumblin' grabbed a few, so he can answer better. I think they were 2001 team videos. I saw some 2001 team DVD's for sale as well.

A BUNCH of 1990 media guides too.

how much did the helmet set you back?

I passed on the helmet at $100. Bought one when college corner went out of business for $60, only difference is the retail version has a bar riveted across the bottom to prevent you from actually putting it on.

The VHS tapes were 2001.

I got there about 11:45. Got in about 12:15. Got two long sleeve dryfit shirts (size XL, so too big, but will work for layering). Everything else was gone unless you wanted pink football cleats. Finally checked out about 1:20.
