Interesting. Don't know a ton about what Arkansas is returning, but I think DT might find himself in a battle for PT, especially given his skill set and their system.
Good for Dustin and I hope it goes well for him. He is the one I am the most bummed about losing. Love his grit and emotion. Good luck Dustin.
Wish him the best too, but he'll notch two quick fouls and he won't have to worry about the rest of that stuff.

One of the closer P5 programs to his home town of Texarkana. Hope he finds what he's looking for in Fayetteville.

I hate to see that. So much can go wrong outside the Boulder bubble and the support network of the CU athletic department. They really do a great job at CU with managing the unique situation of the college athlete. Tons of effort is put into that based on some hard lessons learned last decade.

I keep trying to find something positive from a bad situation. This definitely helps to change my perspective about the loss of Dustin at the end of last year, as I was very disappointed. Now I find myself thinking that at least CU had the chance to find someone else to bring in. Arkansas doesn't have that opportunity. Then again, if Dustin had chosen to stay at CU he may never have gone down this path. I am sure he will spend long hours in the future pondering these very things. Here is to hoping that Dustin learns a lesson and hasn't cut off his basketball opportunities, as he is a talented player.

Not good, feds take a dim view of any kind of counterfitting, they may get reduced charges but they won't likely go away.
Shame that these kids make mistakes that screw up their opportunities to get educations and change their lives. Hope Dustin and the other two can overcome this but it will be hard for them
That's not accurate to say in this case. I'm not saying Fayetteville is Boulder, but it's also a bubble. If he found this type of trouble there, that's kind of impressive. The whole northwest part of Arkansas has a lot more money and is a bit fancier than one would think. Fayetteville's a nice college town surrounded by a lot of towns like Bentonville(Walmart).
Maybe Dustin's troubles were from being closer to home maybe, but Fayetteville's not some place where trouble could find him more easily than if he were in Boulder, imo.

Looks like he picked the wrong friends and went along with a bad plan. He could have done exactly the same thing in Boulder as we know from kids in the past who have made similar mistakes.
I don't know for certain. But in this case we are talking about someone from Texarkana. When he was here, he was away from home and certain connections. A factor in him leaving was that he wanted to be back there in the summer. Well, he went back and transferred to a school within driving distance of old influences. Call it an educated guess that this was not as good of a situation for him keeping his nose clean as staying here year-round would have been.
He got busted with a kid from Little Rock and a kid from Birmingham. Fayetteville is 4 hours from Texarkana. Maybe he reconnected with his old forging operation from high school somehow, but this whole thing just seems random and not directly related to him leaving the bubble of Boulder.

Man, this one bums me out. Dustin was not a trouble maker at all at CU. As you could tell from Tad's comments about him night in and night out, he was a coaches player. One player I talked to tonight said they regarded him as one of the smarter dudes on the team.
I really hope one stray decision doesn't ruin his life.

bummed on this news. I hated to see him leave boulder and this is just sad. Hope he does get a chance to pull everything together and get on a better path.
