Everyone complains when we offer kids without P5 offers though..
Gotta hit that sweet spot of being the first offer to kids with multiple P5 offers.

No, everyone complains when they commit without any P5 offers and no additional P5 offers come after they commit.
So the coaches should try their best to guess on whether other P5 schools will offer rather than relying on their own assessment of whether a kid is good enough for the team? They're not psychic.
Yes they need to offer and get better players, but disagree with criticism of them not knowing to offer before Kansas and Virginia do.. I mean if you criticize them for that, then I don't see how you can criticize them for offering kids with no P5 offers as if they should know whether or not other P5 schools will offer.
I don't criticize them for offering kids with no P5 offers. I am, however, critical of their evaluations if they accept commits, who in the late fall, have no other P5 offers or when they're beating to the punch with offers in their own backyard. If they never offer Reinkensmyer, then fine. However, if CU now offers him, shame on them for missing the boat. Same thing happened with Stoll.
It's odd how you ignore that we have offered a lot of kids before other schools

Expected the response.LOL.
Allbuffs, where we work harder, not smarter.Darth is the hardest working mod.
I know you are tongue in cheek here, but to emphasize: Not at all. Lots of behind the scene stuff that doesn't get appreciated. Plus the recruit threads etc that nik and others do.Darth is the hardest working mod.
It depends, are we talking paid work for his employer, or free work for allbuffs?Darth is the hardest working mod.
You continue to push the theory that offering early is somehow advantageous. It's not.
There's different philosophy's. Some offer guys when they are prepared to accept the offer. Others make offers that are really nothing more than a "we are watching you".
Several years ago I helped a local kid and his Mom navigate the recruiting quagmire. He had 7 offers. They were all talking visits (OVs). When it came time to schedule them, 3 slow-played him and weren't even willing to extend the visit. They still were recruiting him, they just weren't ready for him to visit - despite an offer! WTF?
He did 4 visits but was told before one of them, that if he wanted to commit, he had to wait as they had 7 other offers out for his position and were taking 2. He was #8 out of about 15 on their board. He ate steak and had fun, but did not like their way of operating.
Another P5 school told him point blank that they had offered 3 and would take all 3. If he wasn't interested, they wanted to know asap so they could move on. They said get here and visit and let's go. He committed on his visit.
There's plenty for people to bitch about when it comes to recruiting but PLEASE stop making a big deal out of how early a guy is offered.
