Looking Ahead: Colorado Buffaloes

Everyone was high on CU last year because we returned 5 starters, and we saw how that ended. Im hoping she's right.

As an aside, Booker was on the radio a week or two ago and said something to the effect of "Coach Boyle has really increased the intensity level." He said it isn't that he didn't work them hard before, but he has really stepped it up now.

We'll be better. I'm just not sure we'll be returning to the days of 2013. Outside of how improved our guard play will be, some of it will simply come down to team culture. We were a mentally weak and fractured team last year. If that isn't completely stomped out over this offseason, we'll once again limit our capabilities.

We saw stretches last year when they played as a team and the result was the Dance caliber team we expected them to be. But as Rocky would say, they didn't have the eye of the tiger.

If 2015-16 plays with grit like the 2011-12 did, they'll be damn good. 2014-15 was like one of those UCLA or KU super-talent teams that you know is making an early tournament exit... only they didn't have the super-talent to have a winning season while playing like that.

grit and defense will go a long way.

On paper, we are not adding more talent than we are losing. I'd say there's a good shot we are better though.

It all comes down to the backcourt. Lots of questions there, but there are potential answers at least. Can Dom make the leap we need him to? Is Fortune going to give us 12-15 ppg? Can XT handle the first guard off the bench role? Is Eli ready for spot minutes? Can Akyazili provide anything this year?
