Fall Camp - What are you looking to see?

Camp will start in 2 weeks (no date published yet, but last year they reported on Friday, August 1st).

Besides no injuries, what questions do you want to see answered in the 2015 fall camp?

Position battles?

Certain guys returning to form?

New guys in their first CU practices?

I want to hear about some young guys on defense pushing for playing time.

Defense, defense, defense.

I'd also like to see if Ross can become that deep threat we need.

I want to see who is going to step up and fill the need at LB. Also very interested/worried about the kicking game.

Ya kicker is a big time interest for me. IMO if that is still shaky, it is going to be very tough to overcome the hurdles the buffs need to overcome. Need to be able to hit from 40yds consistantly, minimum avg of 40yds on punts, and be able to kick touchbacks on most KO's.

Agree,

But I also want to see some us finally have a team with a significant number of upperclassmen who play like PAC 12 upperclassmen.

I want us to be past the point where we are hoping for a freshman to step up at multiple positions for us to be decent.

I want to see us redshirting some of the guys who in prior years would be playing due to neccessity, not due to unusual talent. Along with that I want to see some RS Freshman and sophomores earning spots on the depth charts, not starting but putting themselves into a position to contribute in the future.

I want to see our OLBs and DEs not look lost on edge runs, pressure on the QB, and LBs not running themselves out of the play.

I want to see our DBs in a position to make turnovers, last year other than Tedric our DBs got pretty much shut out in terms of turnovers, can't win if you don't have the ball.

Looking for Slider's daily reports. Don't care if he has to break some rules to get inside....

I want to see Sefo, I want to see maturity, leadership and focus(not that he hasn't done this but a new level). I want him to have fun but I want determination with a sense of urgency. I want to see him come to work everyday and make defenses look silly. Jim Mora said he was one of the smartest QBs they played last year, I want him to own this division. I think he is under rated, I hope he is and I hope he proves it to the world.

Also just excited not to see all teenagers wearing black and gold

What will our base D be and what twists will we employ?

Where can we find some unexptected difference makers? We need several

a. Existing guys who take a major step forward (Gilbert, McCartney, Lopez,Olugbode?)
b. Or guys who missed time due to injury (Bell, Henington)?
c. Guys we haven't yet seen due to RS?
d. JC guys, 2015 signees

And G'fing D'it... if the ****ing kicker can kick it out of the end zone, he better damn well be told to do so!!!!

Tired of seeing the ST give up big KO return yards when the ball should have jolly damn well been hit out of the end zone.

Tired of that bull****.

I want to hear good things about the LB corps. Healthy Addison Gillam looking like a beast, Deaysean Rippy earning his way into a starting role, Grant Watanabe all healed up...

This one could be huge for us down the road. When I saw the kid in the Texas state HS championship game there was talent all over the field and he was dominating, on a bad foot.

Kid could be a dominating force on defense.

He only came to that championship game to chew bubblegum and kick ass... and he was all out of bubblegum.

If watanabe can play to his potential he could be an x factor for this defense.

Size and talent at LB if Watanabe , Gillam, and Rippy can play to the level they are capable of. Going to need it.

A bunch of stuff you cannot teach in that video right there. If he is healthy, he will not RS, I am quite sure.

It's a season worth of highlights for some kids rolled into one game. He wasn't fooled for a second on any of those misdirection plays or on the read option. With Leavitt as a LB expert I think we could see big things on D considering how the LB corps was the weakest defensive unit last season.

A lot of people were worried about the offensive line last year and they eventually became one of the strongest parts of the offense. I think that will happen with linebackers this season.

Gosh! I'm drawing a blank: WHO was the LB coach last season? And who took his place????

Looking to see if that will make any difference.

1. Cohesiveness in the O-Line
2. Ball hawking DB's for their own confidence and let Sefo be more careful of his decisions
3. Three great options at RB where there is no drop off in production if one is getting a breather

Hoping between Powell, Adkins, Lindsey and Carr that we might just have the talent to really pound the football and keep the D on their heels. We will see.

I just want to fast forward through fall camp, and see what this team is made of when the season begins.

Does he have the speed needed for a pac12 LB?

Don't know what his times look like but in HS he was running down guys wide who signed B12 and SEC LOIs.

Only two things I see that might be questions on him are his height and his health. Foot injuries are one of those things that unfortunately tend to stick with guys.

Also a question about how he does in pass coverage, don't think he did a lot of that in HS.

He has excellent instincts and a very quick first step, also looks to be very good at getting off blocks.

I remember a quote from a Texas sportswriter after the game that this was the type of recruit Texass should be going after instead of all the prima donna's with measurables. He said this was a guy they would regret not recruiting.
