Wristen resigns as tight end coach at UCLA and becomes...............................

head coach at Colorado State-Pueblo. UCLA has lost 10 assistants in the last 2 years. Pretty tough on Dorell to keep coming up with capable replacements.

head coach at Colorado State-Pueblo.............

:wtf: how is going from UCLA to CSU Pueblo a career advancement? would this not be a school that a D-2 or lower assistant or a H.S. coach who wants to get into major college football take?

i dont understand this. i cant believe he will be making more money?

:wow:

Re: Wristen resigns as tight end coach at UCLA and becomes...........................

He's a an alum of CSU-Pueblo, formerly Southern Colorado. He also grew up in Pueblo and I think his folks might still be there. You're right about it probably being a paycut though.

well that helps to explain it. thanks for the info.

My gf is a csu-pueblo alum ('03) and she says that csu-pueblo does not have a football team, unless they have just added that program since 2003.

She says is he the new raquetball coach?

Pueblo is adding football next year.

Obviously, this is not a career move or pay increase. I think that says a lot about his choice.

Bull****. It's HC experience. GB took his first job at Wasted State I believe. Or was it Fort Loser? Anyhow, it led to good things for him. I guess. :sad1:

Barnett went from Air Academy High to Ft. Lewis in Durango.

From Ft. Lewis he went to the Buffs.

All of his moves (except his last) were forward moves.

For Wristen to go from a Div. I assistant coaching position, to a head coaching position at a CSU-Pueblo (they just reinstated football and won't start competing until 2008) - it might be a forward move, but not much of one.

Re: Pueblo is adding football next year.

Apparently, AP screwed up. Wristen did resign and is pursuing the CSU-Pueblo job, but the school has yet to select a coach.

This is even more telling about the current state of affairs at UCLA. Hard to believe somebody would simply resign a position before getting another job unless he was very disillusioned with the situation there. I wonder if it's a problem with Dorell. SoCal Bob is right, they've lost a ton of assistants in the last two years. Probably the entire staff has turned over with the exception of Dorell.
