Mac on hotseat (Grantland)

The only way MM's seat is hot is if the team takes a step back this year. Come out of OOC at 2-2 and go o-fer the conference, he'll still get another year. That's when the seat gets hot, though. Not now.

If Mac goes 0-fer in conference play I would expect him gone. Can't have that 2 years in a row. Home losses to either Nicholls St or UMass and I think the seat gets very very warm.

The author does point out an overriding problem, MacIntyre is pretty anonymous on the national stage. Which is actually a carry-over of Embree being unknown. I get asked all the time who our coach is, then usually this conversation to explain who he is:
--Remember when San Jose State was pretty good a few years ago?
--Kinda.
--That's him.
--Oh.

My favorite quote (right above the Macintyre piece)

"Was Golden dealt a crappy hand when the NCAA began to investigate Miami almost immediately after he started his tenure there? You bet. But, to quote a coaching legend, this ain’t intramurals, brother! "

Writer is from Ohio State and definitely doesn't know **** about CU, and probably Pac-12 football outside of what's on ESPN. Still it is never good for this to be a narrative for everyone outside of our footprint that isn't an expert, and right now the way he feels pretty much reflects most people east of the Mississippi.

The Titanic is also a shipping legend.
