i've been away, so sorry if these have been discussed, but a couple tidbits from sports illustrated's season preview:

1. every coach in the SEC west makes at least 4mm a year. one of them is going to finish dead last in the division.

2. they think every team in the pac12 south can beat every other team in the p12 south so all are potential playoff teams. except CU.

brain: we see massive improvement this year and still only win about 5 or 6 games.
heart: we get a few breaks here and there and we win 7 or 8 games.

i'm not bracing myself for another complete disaster season as much as i have the past few years. if it happens and it tears off the scabs on my heart, it will be a bad, bad day in Buff Land.

Basically, most national analysts think CU is probably a Top 40 squad in 2015... and in our division that also probably means a losing record even with 4-0 OOC

My brain and heart think CU is going to surprise some people this year.
Will catch a couple of teams overlooking us and a team or two underestimating us. Big improvement will be seen in win/loss columns.

I think we drop 1 or even 2 in OOC but I also think we will be a lot better in conference play than most people think and still find a way to get 6 wins and go bowling.

Everything on paper tells me the Buffs should be improved, possible by quite a bit. My heart will wait and see.

What is the difference between "overlooking" and "underestimating"?

If we drop 2 OOC games, this place is going to go into full meltdown mode.

I tend to agree with the consensus. I think in any other division in CFB other than the SEC West we'd likely have good odds to make a bowl, its just that the P12 South is brutal right now and the schedule doesn't help. Figures Washington would drop off and we'd get Stanford back the year UW is expected to be back down.

I underestimated the amount my new deck that overlooks the San Juans would cost.

Time to be the team that surprises the press. We are coming for the Pac 12 this year and will make some wish that they did not underestimate or overlook us.

Overlook= the chance that there would be a change in the original date for the Hawaii game.
Underestimate= The cost to have ****ing United airlines change 4 tix to Oahu.
