CU football: Donovan Lee looks to make big impact as slot receiver

For those of you who were wondering what I meant in the "Scrimmage Impressions" thread when I said that Donovan is yoked, unrecognizable from 2014, and looks like a RB:

Definitely impressive in the practice I saw in terms of raw athleticism. He looks quicker and more explosive but I hope he doesn't have the same problems as DD in terms of his catching window.

Well, he isn't 5'6" on a good day

Clearly some work got done in the weight room this year. That could pay off all over the field

Lots of work was done in this off season. You can see the results physically, and see the results in attitudes. That combined with starters having another year experience and probably playing a bit faster with instincts being a little more natural should make things better in the win loss column. I did love hearing Levitt on the radio interview talking about him not knowing if we were real short on talent when he took the job, but that wasn't the case; he said we have lots of talent on the defense. Just like Mac, I don't think Levitt is a 'blowing smoke' type of guy. Can the season just get started already???

Oh, and what I was going to say originally in Donovans thread.....how nice is it to have someone that is a playmaker with speed and we are just trying to get him on the field somewhere, instead of one position being so thin that it is obvious where he will play. My guess is still that slot will be his spot, but that is because I am really hopig that outside of the main three backs that Carr will explode and be the guy at RB. I remember salivating at his high school videos, how quick, fast and strong he seemed to be. I can't wait to see that with him in a Buff uniform.

My favorite recruit from the 2015 class. I really hope we get creative in finding ways to get him the ball. Slot receiver, out wide, Running back, reverses, etc.
