Offense
QB: Sefo-D, Can't take his eye off a DAMN receiver. I mean he has regressed. He looks like the start of last year instead of end. Only major problem at end of last year was turnovers and not sustaining drives. Regressed.
RBs: Adkins-B+, Lindsay-B, Powell-F Fumble and looks like he has no speed. Not a Pac 12 rusher. Let Carr get his reps.
TEs: We have them?
WRs: Spruce-B some solid catches but nothing spectacular, boring Punt Returner, Fields-C- with Stupid return and doesn't look much bigger or better, Ross-B showed he had a good camp, Bobo-N/A I don't understand not utilizing this guys size/speed/strength combo
OL: Irwin was the only one I can remember not getting worked at some point so he gets a B, rest of unit is C-. Didn't pass protect worth a crap and had to protect w/ extra blockers
Offensive Coaches: Lindgren-D, awful play calling often. Very frustrating to see CU passing when they can run the ball early in the 4th quarter after running over Hawaii in 3rd. Adams-C, Powell didn't get another carry after the fumble but he shouldn't have been given that chance. Nothing special from his TEs either. Bernardi-D+, OL was worse than last year. Those two 5th year Guards are missed more than we thought. Kelley wasn't masked by their help like last year.

Defense
DL/Rush OLB: McCartney-B+ with that funny ass interception return and solid pressure all night. Solis-B, noticed when in there he was solid. Franke-A, Dude was in on play repeatedly and I was VERY impressed. Kafovalu-B-, one great play but didn't notice him much. Carrell-B-, solid but nothing wowed me, Lopez and others are all C+, the DL was the strength and rarely got beat up.
LB: Gillam-C-, looks slow and hesitant. Truly not the same player as a couple years ago. Not the fire. Olugbode-C-, didn't notice him.
CB: Awuzie-A-, solid all night and showed he's the best Corner Witherspoon-B-, was not bad with only one bad decision on PI TURN!!!, Crawley-F, that's awful! Senior talking about NFL. Brutal play.
S: Tedric-B+, solid leader in the back, Moeller-B, solid all night and didn't make any bone headed plays.
Defensive Coaches: DC-Leavitt-B+, impressed with his defense and kept Buffs in the game early with his schemes. He may be CUs next head coach. Sigh. But let's hold off on that. His linebacker play kept me from an A-. DL-Jeffcoat-B+, this group looked better than they ever have. Impressed! CB-Clark-C-, explained by his players. Tumpkin-B+,Safeties were solid all night.

Special Teams
Kinney-D, needs to punt faster and get longer punts. You are a P5 punter. 40+ average!!! Graham-C-, high hang time but average distance. Diego-A, nailed every field goal. Impressive. Severson was impressive on making tackles and the coverage units were okay but C.
Neinas: F-, fire this worthless bastard. What horse crap. Spread Punt formation is awful. His coaching is awful. Just atrocious!!!

Things to fix:
Play calling needs improvement, Sefo quits looking right at his damn RECs, OL needs to step up. Don't play Powell.
Defense excites me but need to see more from guys like Crawley and Gillam. These are supposed to be your best players. They were some of worse on defense.
FIRE NEINAS. I have had enough like all of you. Th

You give way too much credit to Witherspoon. He was ****ing up on coverage all night long and was ****ty at tackling as well.

Agree with Franke. Very nice debut. Nice added depth there. But the flip side, I was disappointed by Kofavalu. Two years ago I thought he was the best player on the line at the end of the season. Didn't even notice him during the play last night.
Safeties are good. TT plays angry.
Linebackers are non-existent (looking forward to Awini, but he had a baseball hat on all night).
I never would have thought that Corner and specifically KC would be the weak spon on this D, but there we are.

It is very strange because our most experienced players everyone assumed would step up with another year of seasoning were the most disappointing. Sefo did not look good running the offense, Crawley got abused, for some reason Powell always gets the first nod yet shows nothing, Kofavalu on the line, the two linebackers... Trying my best to not overreact, and doubt that we will go winless in the PAC, but I had more confidence in this group going into this year than I have in a long time. I didn't account for regression from our veterans and team leaders.

You guys broke it down pretty good. I would maybe add how tired I am of these slow, undersized receivers that produce nothing. Spruce is decent on most teams, looks great to us because what we've had for so many years. Teams all over the country have atleast 1 or 2 6'4" 195/215lb receivers that come out and ball. Teams that are known for running the ball get a kid or two in that can just go up and get the ball. (basketball) on turf. If you go back and look at our WR sets, Spruce is the biggest guy out there. No knock on spruce, dude has hands and can run routes. We need a guy that can take the ball out of the air and break a tackle or two.

I'd give Kinney an F. Taking 10 seconds to get the punt off, getting a punt blocked, and averaging 36 yards with a long of 42 is failing in my book. How he presumably has been taking this long practice after practice after practice without anything being done is astounding.

If we want good special teams maybe we should get serious and have a dedicated special teams coach. A waste of a coaching slot? Well, not if he can recruit lights out!

Tim Coleman was also absent after projecting to play quite a bit?

He's hurt again according to last week's depth chart. I hope his career isn't one that's constantly hindered by being hurt like a few other guys we've seen have to give up the game early.

I stopwatches every punt. Only the one in the end zone late and one earlier were at 2 seconds. Others were under 1.85 which was better than HI punter. That said he has to get that average up to over 40!
