Same officiating crew from the Hawaii game

I didn't want to blame the loss on officiating in week one, but after tonight I'm really starting to wonder if this MWC crew is intentionally rigging games for the conference. As posted on Rivals by SD Buff:

Ball is placed at the Colorado 33 yard line???

I pointed out it was the same crew in the game thread and was just ripped apart for blaming the officiating for us being behind. Ripped apart, I tell ya.

Wow. Yeah, when they showed it on the board, we were pretty sure we saw him step out 5 times on that play.

When you're watching live, it's hard to really see what's going on with things like officiating because they don't show many replays. I saw one bad non call for sure on a punt. There was a flagrant shove in a CU player's back right in front of the official that wasn't called. That is ALWAYS called.

I trust you guys are ripping the officials for not calling PI on the pick six?

Hey, man, I could counter with the 4th down pass with the obvious pick where the CU guy got undercut and windmilled. That **** happens. But when you review a play to see where a guy went out of bounds and you miss that much... it's got to raise some questions.

This. That was an obvious illegal pick - not a rub, not running crossing patterns into each other - just a receiver running straight into a defender who was running to cover another receiver, while the ball was in the air. That ****ing pissed me off.

Overall, I felt like the refs called a very fair game. However, they just really suck at making correct calls and screwed teams over equally tonight.

I saw the pick play 3 times, and I didn't watch the whole game. Nary a one was called.

Okay. I will bow out and you guys can have your fun.

I wasn't able to watch the game (FU CBSSN, CSU, and CU for agreeing to this crap) ... so I can't really comment knowledgebly about the quality of the officiating (but nik's post certainly raises some questions). But doesn't the fact that for some reason the very same crew that screwed us in the last few seconds of the Hawaii game still even have their jobs, much less be assigned to this game?

The pax has bad refs and it's a conference with money. Of course the mwc has worse.

I'm just glad we won and this is nearly a non issue. No more ****ty mwc refs. Onto the ****ty pac refs.

For the record, they simply seemed a bit hapless at the end of Hawaii. I blame the Buffs as much as anybody for that. It was the rest of the game that left me concerned.

A few flags that frustrated me tonight included the no-call on the PI v. Crawley, and the Personal against Kelley after #24 hassled Sefo when he was down on the sideline. And there was a blatant hold that sprung Dawkins on a long run. There wasn't a way to miss it--the DL was trying to disengage to make a play, but couldn't. Innocent enough, I guess. But the ball spot on in the OP was pretty inexcusable.

The one I was most livid on was the pick play on the 4th down conversion. Higgins made a pretty obvious hip check on Chido. Regardless, calls generally even out (except for crazy ball spotting that Nik pointed out). Gotta press through those and the Buffs did.

Wow! Just saw the play. He was clearly out at the csu 47 but got the ball at there own 33. Crazy bad. That's 20 yards. Horrible. And the dumbass announcers didn't say ****.

My only rant is when sefo gets tackled on csu sideline, kicks sefo and our centrr gets the personal foul. We wont see the roided ref again this season.

Duff, come on! A few things to note on the play. It is illegal man downfield if he is beyond the line. The CU player hits him at the same time the ball gets there. Too close to call live and their constant misses on replays and swallowing the flag on CSU, I am not going to feel bad about that.
