The most frustrating thing for myself is this

T A&M in the SEC doing well.
Utah tearing up the PAC 12 (they came from the MW).
TCU and Oklahoma State tearing up the Bix XII.

Who would have thought that CU would be the laughing stock of all the transfers from a few years back?

CU has no one to blame but themselves.

They could have leveraged the increased fan support, great alumni interaction, conference shift, with a good head coach and things could have gotten back on solid footing then. Instead they hired Embree.

Okie lite wasn't exactly a transfer...
On the "done well" side, Mizzou seems to be hanging in there, and in the "no real change" the Nubs are there.
Finally, on the "who else moved and is sucking" list, don't forget about Maryland and Rutgers.

For me and mine it's all these late/night games. I usually love them, great atmosphere "under the lights". Where it starts sucking is driving home for 2 hours midnight after another @zz kick'n

I think all of us thought that moving to the Pac-12 would solve all our ills, but now it's becoming more obvious that our ills were self-imposed, and the only ones who can pull us out of our malaise is us.

Unfortunately, the only way to do that might be to try again to bring in the right personnel.

****. We shouldn't have fired Gary Barnett. Everything since that day, except for migrating to the P12, has pretty much sucked.

wrong. we've been over this countless times. CU was maybe damned if they fired him, but they were definitely damned if they kept him. You think recruiting is bad now?

Also true. However I would have rather the AD formulated some plan when they pulled trigger on GB instead of the knee jerk reaction to the faux scandal.

Would we have brand spankin' new facilities if we'd not moved to the Pac 12? The move will prove to be a good one that will end up benefiting us. I don't think people grasp the time and effort it takes to turn the Titanic.

Yes I do.

Gary Barnett could at least turn in a winning season 5 out of 7 tries. He'd just brought back Hankwitz to be DC too.

He gave us fond memories such as 62-36 and an epic victory over UT in the B12 Championship game and ruining their season.

Spilled milk but I agree that if the admin. had acted like anything other than scared children, then GB would have survived and likely thrived. Bobby Purify, Chris Brown, T Wheat, Bad Thad, Joe Klop, even Joel "I want to kiss Husker fanny" Klatt, M. Hage, you could go on all day, GB got players, and knew what to do when they got here. If you told me I could have a GB 7-5 Playtex Personal Protection bowl season next year, or what we'll likely get, I'd choose the former every day of the week.

Nobody got more of out the talent he recruited then Barnett. We would be bowling this year if he was coaching

you're doing it wrong -- designate a different driver

Let's not get revisionist - Buffalo Betsy took away GB's ability to recruit. Who knows if he would have "lost" it if he was on a level playing field.

Lost is lost. It doesn't matter who's fault it was. Barnett had problems with throwing players under the bus, and it was catching up to him. Combine that with multiple parents and players who told stories about him lying to recruits and he was damaged beyond salvation. A faction of seniors, his recruits, intentionally gave less than full effort his last 2 games in an attempt to get him fired. Revisionist history is raising him up as if he should have stayed.

Barnett lost his ability to recruit when he lost Bieniemy and Embree. He was on a downward slide losing games and slipping badly in recruiting. Not that is was all his fault, it wasn't; but CU needed a change to actually RTD. Bohn just hired the wrong two coaches.
And don't forget Barnett made frustrating choices too. Keeping Watson and Okruch too long for starters. our down hill slide started before firing Barnett.

i choose to look "forward" at this point... what i see are brand spanking new facilities that will payoff in future recruiting years and a athletic director that gets it! our current coach should be given the full length of his contract to turn the ship. I am worn down but I will be out there every home game we have....tailgating, screaming my ass off and enjoying some golden nector.... not to rain on anyones parade but i believe that zona and the beavers are our only shots at a conf win this year...zona maybe 33% chance and beavers maybe 40% chance....thought wazzu game would be winnable but they beat the ducks in their house while throwing for over 500 yards.

Its easy to get caught up and lose all hope, but I am with you - I am bullish on CU.. Most of the optimism comes from the updated facilities. CU and Boulder has so much going for it. We are a sleeping giant I say.

There are still 7 games left but Buffs need to play much better overall to get a win or two in conf., hope they can starting this week. Worried about AZ run game though, especially with decimated LB corps, hope Leavitt can do something to help cover that up. Next season is crucial, gotta go bowling. Big senior class.
