Jim Leavitt is allsome

Other than that 17-14 win at Utah in 2011, 24 was the lowest we'd held P12 foes to (Cal and Utah).

13 tonight was damn impressive, especially with our 3 & out circus act in the 4th. That'll get you burned on the road far more often than not.

Just imagine what this man can do with a little talent at the linebacker position. Second lowest OSU has scored this season and they were at home.

Very impressed with the way they stopped a running QB for once. Defensive scheme/play calling is making a huge difference.

Stitched together with mismatched pieces and working so hard they put together an effort that held a home PAC XII team to 13 points.

Great, great effort.

Our front 7, well you know the deal, especially at LB. If he can get some legit talent there, this vould be gun. He is a damn good coach.

Like i said earlier, they put 31 up on the road last week and they held them to 13.

The D looked like they were succumbing to the run again in the 4th, but they pulled out a W. Great defensive win...OSU is a bad team but I'll take the W for sure.

How committed is Leavitt to CU? He appears to love it here but if a suitor comes calling would he go? What would it take? An HC job? Another DC job? NFL?

Hard to tell. His personality is the kind where he seems committed where ever he goes...or fired up and not committed. I can't see him leaving to quickly...and he really hasn't done much at CU yet. If he turns this into a top 20 D I could see him getting suitors.

Hope we hang on to him. Man crush here. D is playing pretty good and getting better week to week. With top talent we will be bad ass'. Awuzie and Thompson are the leaders out there. Solid game by all though. Even our fresh Lb.

Leavitt exudes coolness. He is either Slash to MacIntyre's Axl Rose or Keith Richards to MMac's Mick Jagger.

It could be hard to keep the band together.

He's got the most out of the hand he's been dealt, no doubt there. I really like him as a coach, we need to hang onto him.

Very strong history with K State per coach Leavitt. Head coach retiring again per K State.

We will have to keep an eye on our progress this season....... ;)

And for the defense to hold given the offensive offense the last three series of 3 and outs is solid.

CU's offensive play calling:
  • 3rd from last drive: Run, run, pass broken up, punt
  • 2nd from last drive: run, short pass, run, punt
  • Last drive: run, run, run, punt
No. Help. At. All. JL is allsome!

Let's wait until our D wins us a game we really shouldn't win before we start getting worried about Leavitt going anywhere soon.

That's how hcmm wants to win games

I don't know, man, pretty sure any coach would rather win going away. I think he just believes that with the team we have right now, we have a better shot at pulling out a close win in the end than trying to go for the blowout.

This. Really happy for the team. But as the OP says, OSU sucks on O. They ran almost at will - maybe it just seems that way but we apparently don't know how to tackle. Nall has 217 yds on the season (in 5 games), 122 last night. I shudder to think if they'd left Mitchell in all night to develop a little consistency. And w/o the bad non-call at the end of the game, could've been a different outcome. I don't really think Leavitt will be using last night as audition tape.

Spruce and Awuzie ftmfw, literally.

Mitchell is not very good at this point, IMO. He made a few nice throws, but was consistently off the mark. Would have rather seen him all game, tbh.

Basically, trying to win shootouts with this offense is not a good strategy.
