first you gotta burn all the coal to make the whole shebang lighter.

then, you gotta bring in a wrecking ball to knock all that **** over so that not everything is intertwined. you need to separate the ****.

then, you gotta pick out the things that are salvagable. not looking like you're gonna get much outta that mess.

then, you gotta bring in some heavy equipment to pick it all up and get it out of there, except for what is salvagable.

then you take the **** to the recycling facility and hope that it is worth something if they can melt it down and form it into something worthwhile.

then you take your money and buy a bottle of good scotch and sit in the dark and wish it wasn't like this...

I don't get the fire MMac thing. Not sure what anyone expected of playing Stanford...they've been on a tear, destroying teams like UCLA, Washington and Arizona...and since we are roughly on par with those teams, getting crushed should've been expected. Not pumping sunshine, but taking the worst BCS program and making us competitive in year 2 and 3 is pretty good. I've been saying next year is his rubicon...bowl game or he's gone which is fair IMO...4 years and a (relatively) favorable schedule. I certainly get the frustration...particularly with recruiting...here's hoping he makes a few changes in the offseason.

Multiple years of bad recruiting have contributed to our problems. Coaching matters in terms of scouting and preparation. The point was made that we would have to play our best game to get a win. The problem as I see it right now is that we dont have the play makers to score. Its like the opposite of last year where we didn't have the defense to stop the other team when we were very capable of scoring.

Im starting to blame Mac for some of the above. Im not sure firing him is the right decision. But I will say he hasn't inspired much confidence in me this year. He corrected the Baer situation, one of his making, so I am hopeful we will see more changes.

I don't disagree with anything here. I just think firing this season is a bit of an overreaction, though I certainly share everyone's frustrations. But the thought that any coach could take the worst P5 team in the country and make them competitive with this Stanford team in their 3rd year is kinda cray cray...not saying you think this, but some of the meltdowns after the game yesterday is weird cuz they've destroyed in bigger fashion teams like UCLA.

Losing to a very crappy Hawaii team in year 3 was a fireable offense in itself.

Watching yesterday reminded us how far away we are, how high the mountain is, and how much more there is still to climb. Oh, and night is coming. Thats why all the cray cray. Even from me. :(

I have to admit that's the game that knocked me off the Mac bandwagon. I remain ambivalent about Mac now. Although I don't see Mac being fired, I have no strong feeling either way.
