I want to see how CU plays against Utah - it will tell us a lot about this team.

Depending how you like to turn a phrase, CU either came out flat or just mailed their effort in for the WSU game. Players are calling their teammates out, seems like things could be falling apart for this team.

Do they play like they just want the season to be over or do they find their soul and battle to the last play?

I do not expect a victory but I do expect effort which was MIA against WSU for the most part.

If this is a lackluster performance then it bodes bad for the future, IMO, since most of the players are coming back.

I think we already know what we need to know about this team. There's nothing we're going to find out in game 13 that we didn't know after 12.

Precisely. This team needs a talent injection in the form of some JUCO's at key positions, OT, OG, LB, TE. Will CU get them? Don't know. But next season will likely be a whole lot like this season, unless there is a serious upgrade. About the only place where I could see that happening on the roster is QB, assuming Montez is as good as billed.

I agree on the talent but I am looking at the effort. In week 11 there was effort on the field for the most part, week 12 the effort disappeared.

Regarding the OL, I just don't trust Bernardi.

I believe that if, for example, Sully Wiefels had signed with CSU instead of flipping to CU... that he would have started the last 2 seasons and played very well. Particularly that he would have opened holes and protected well vs the Buffs.

So I really don't know what we have and who can be coached up.

That WSU game is hard to figure out. Did they, after the missed FG's, just think, "Here we go again" and let that get into their heads? Did the coaches dumb down the offense for Apsay? I have no clue why the offense was SO bad.

Usually your bowl game you set up your following season. I remember Coach Mac going to the spread against alabama in the blockbuster bowl... Maybe we treat this like a bowl game and do something for us to hang our summer hats on?

im just worn down and out....good thing season ticket renewals dont get mailed next week....my six seats would not be renewed...by feb it will be 50-50

The coaches tried to sell the team that they were still bowl eligible last week and the team left their desire in Boulder last Saturday. How is this staff going to sell the team the idea that Utah is their bowl game?

It's not unusual for a losing team to play well in the last game of the year. Seniors play with pride and the underclassmen are trying to send them off while impressing for spring. I'd expect the team to play well. A win would surprise me, but I think they'll leave it out there.

This is why I was disappointed to see RG announce Mac was returning before the last game was played. How we finish up the season matters. Getting wrecked by WSU and just not showing up vs Utah would tell me Mac really isn't the guy for the job. If we do show up, the guys are still fighting and maybe deserve another year. Oh well.

Utah's O and D line are filled with guys that will play on Sunday's. Stanford and Utah are the teams that just are much more physical than CU. If it is close, it will mean our secondary made some big plays on a receiving core that is the equivalent of ours sans Spruce.

If you think that RG's announcement is unchangeable, I got some land in the Arizona dessert with nice views of Mexico....

Weird, that spread offense was invented much later. Who knew Mac was running it much earlier?

I think you mean the triple option.

Are you suggesting we install a new offense for the last game?

Every game fills in a piece of the season story, so it will be interesting to see the effort, performance and outcome in this last game. As far as the general direction of the season, of course that's already known. Nothing in this last game that brings hope, only observation.

actually he did go to a type of spread and let Darian throw it around, trying to possibly get him in the league. I am suggesting this is the game to try something new/different give us hope for next season. We are tired of seeing the same thing 12 games in a row. Excuse me for calling it the spread, it was the I Bone. Pass oriented offense. I remember it vividly, thinking why change now? but Good Ol Bill trying to help his players future. How long have you actually followed the Buffs?

Enjoy a history lesson.

Last place in p12 recruiting is the only data point you need to see at this point. MM may win a few games next year but will never get out of the bottom three until recruiting gets out of the bottom.

The only thing that would make me feel good about MM is if I saw some really good things happening with COLORADO high school coaching community. That's where the bread is buttered.

He went with a one back passing offense for the '91 Blockbuster Bowl, and Hagans last game as a Buff. He didn't want to wait until Spring to begin the transition from the Ibone.

You can ignore holic. He thinks that recruiting isn't related to winning in College Football.

Which is not the spread offense, by any stretch. But carry on.

Nothing will come out of the Utah game that we don't already know. We are a bad team. Sure we don't suck as much as we did a few years ago but we still suck and nothing on this team says just wait until 2016 because we are going to be awesome.

Amen. I'm done with Bernardi after last week. I saw more low snaps out of Kelley than I could count, which should be cleaned up by this point in the season, and protection was terrible.

As to the subject, my primary concern with the team at this point is whether or not Mac has lost the team. Don't know if it was related to the game or not, but right after WSU there were one or two tweets from players that make me question whether or not Mac is still (or even CAN still) motivate the players on this roster. if the answer is "No," then I think CU pretty much has to move on.

Kelley has been throwing snaps low all season. Sefo has done a great job at picking them up.

sorry I misspoke and called it the spread. Back then it would have been a spread, everyone was running wishbone, triple option, wing bone, flex bone, double wing, double tight, etc..

back on track now - I just hope the kids come out - play hard and hopefully pull off a win. This will be another long summer full of questions.

Agreed; it had bothered me up to this point but with Apsay back there it killed the buffs. If we as fans notice it, it should have been worked on and fixed by game 12
