Unfortunately the last one of the year since we won't be playing any more this season.

Thanksgiving weekend is traditionally a huge weekend for rivalry games and we have some of those this year with big implications.

Maybe the biggest is (3) Oklahoma at (11)Okie Lite. Since the B12 doesn't have a playoff this game could essentially send the Sooners to the playoff.

Also on Saturday we have (6) Notre Dame still trying to sneak in playing (9) Stanford who is out but would love to ruin the Irish's hopes.

Down south we have a couple big ones
(18) Ole Miss at (21) Mississipi State
(13) Free Shoes U at (12) Florida as we see Sparkles trying to take control of the state of Florida with a better season than most of us expected.
Another traditional battle that doesn't mean as much this year has (2)Bama at a disappointing Auburn. Can Auburn pull the upset and ruin Bamas playoff hopes.

In the B1G the game to watch is (8) Ohio State against (10) Meatchicken. Now that they are both good again the game means more than in the past few years.

Also don't forget the battle for LA with unranked USC playing (22) UCLA

Friday's best games look to include:

The Apple Bowl with Washington wanting to knock Washington state out of the top 25 is always a big one, this year at Washington.

In a game that suddenly doesn't mean what it did a couple weeks ago (7) ****Baylor is at (19) TCU.

(4) Iowa goes to ***raska with a chance for a 12-0 season and to play in the B1G title game for a shot at the playoffs. They can also deny kNU of a chance for a .500 season and a bowl game.

Speaking of big mouth losers on Thursday Texas Tech visits Texas with a chance to extend their misery and give them their 7th loss of the season.

Locally

The Sheep are at a bad Fresno team and AFA is at an improving New Mexico. Each has already qualified for a bowl in the pathetic MWC. Wyoming hopes to put a painful season to rest hosting an also very bad UNLV team. The cold of Laramie might be enough to push Wyoming to a win over the desert dwellers

CSU Pueblo plays Midwestern State U in Wichita Falls Texas in the second round of the D2 playoffs hoping to continue on to a second national championship.

Another interesting game on Friday.

Houston which until last week was undefeated and hoping for a shot at the G5 power bowl slot host (15) Navy which is 9-1.

Not only is Texas not any good, they also can't catch a break.

Texas DB makes a good play on a questionable pass, has the ball in his hands but hasn't gotten solid control of it yet. Texas Tech WR turns DB and gives him a solid shot to the chest knocking the ball out. Ball pops up and lands in the hands of another TT WR who proceeds to the end zone. TT up 7-3 but just went 3 and out.

TTU holds on to beat Texas 48-45 in a very entertaining game.
Texas has some real talent but doesn't seem interested in using it wisely. TTU couldn't stop the run with Chris Warren averaging 11 ypc and gaining 278 yard and Swoopes adding close to 100 on the ground but Texas kept trying to pass and killed drives with missed passes.

If I'm Charlie Strong and have a better offer someplace else I take it. Just don't see him fixing things at UT. If he asked I think they would gladly let him go

Four win seasons aren't what the Texas boosters think they are paying for..

Pitt losing to Miami doesn't help Iowa's strength of schedule. Their 3pt win over them was one of the Iowa's only 3 quality wins this season.

Iowa was always my second team so I really don't mind cheering for them to beat down Nebraska today =]

Don't think strength of schedule will matter. If Iowa loses they are out if they are the undefeated B1G champ they will be in the playoffs.

Potentially hurts a one-loss Michigan State beating Iowa more than anything.

#24 Toledo lost at home to Western Michigan. I really don't know about a G5 team getting into the New Year's Six this year. Maybe Houston with that strong win over Navy today if they beat Temple in the AAC title game, but that loss to UConn last week is pretty bad.

am I the only who really misses this 1:30 time slot on the day after thanksgiving

What ... the Corn Bowl doesn't adequately fill the void for you?

But I get your point ... the virtual monopoly on national attention we used to have was great. However, not having to deal with Fusker fans makes up for the loss of that, IMHO.

Speaking of the Corn Bowl, Kirk Ferentz went all Jim Harbaugh on the refs and got a sideline warning, immediately followed by an unsportsmanlike penalty. Tied with the fuskers at 7 in the 2nd.

Pretty sure the Heisman commercial on the Iowa/Nebraska game just stated that Crouch won the Heisman in 2001 after leading the Huskers to an "undefeated regular season and birth in the NC". The ****???

Iowa 21 fuskers 10

Thought I heard booing by the greatest fans in the history of Memorial Stadium and mankind earlier. They might have to remove those plaques proclaiming their greatness.

****ing revisionist history.

But probably really just some dumb**** staffer at ESPN who didn't do his/her job very well.

I guess they considered the last game not regular season.

Maybe they are a board regular. Memory or facts? Why not both?

Jordan Canzeri toting the rock like he got a pep talk from Chris Brown before the game.

Wow. Iowa runs the same play twice in a row. Result - 2 touchdowns.

Hey, bugeaters. Ya may wanna consider some adjustments.

(Or dont, so I can continue to laugh)

I love FB blocking =]

Wish we had a Drumm.. Or used Powell and Frazier more as blockers =[
