Chip Kelly fired

I bet USC wishes they had waited. Not sold on their current coach. If we had beat them like we should have then he wouldn't be there.

Do we get another round of dominoes falling at the college level now?

He'll either get another NFL HC job this season or, I suspect, spend a year in the broadcast booth before getting to handpick his next job in the college ranks after next season.

I understand the opinion, but Chip would look at our current personnel and asphyxiate from laughing.

Chip is in the 4mm+ range by himself. Then we'd have to upgrade assistant pay and buyout Mac and others. I like the idea, but there is no way financially CU could swing that. That's a 10MM swing.

Kelly told Jay Glazer he wants to remain in the NFL. Word is Kelly wasn't too thrilled with some aspects of the college game (NCAA, recruiting, parents) when he left Oregon. I don't think he's rushing to get another college job based on this.

And there are things NFL players won't put up with like being told your bedtime and to drink your protein shakes. Dudes a control freak and that doesn't endear him to pros.

If Chip doesn't like the media pressure or dealing with prima donna NFL stars, it seems he would be a better fit in college than the NFL regardless of how much he may or may not like dealing with boosters.

Chip needs to go somewhere with a strong GM so he can focus on coaching. He was a decent coach, but was a terrible GM.

Yep. Many coaches in the NFL would be wise to focus on coaching instead of all personnel matters. The problem is they all want to bring in specific players to fit within their system and want to get rid of guys that don't buy in or cause problems. I think Josh McDaniels fits into this category.

I think some of the GM stuff is overblown with Kelly, his biggest issue seems to be his leadership and how he rubs players in the NFL the wrong way.
