Chris Helbig joins team as PWO

Oh. Good point. Forgot about that part. Not sure I get this one then.
Maybe they view him as an "athlete" and will try him at different positions. I mean, he was going to play basketball in college, so he must be an athletic kid.

This is about our current attrition situation. it is not impossible that we see two Qb's leave before the fall and Sefo red-shirt.

Thanks, good information.

The offers from UNC and CSU-Pueblo make me more interested.

Wristen in Pueblo knows talent, his QB from last year was expected by some to be drafted late. UNC is FCS level and a passing program so the kid has some coaches who think he has talent.

I really like this addition. Not sure if Chris will ever end up a starter, but I can tell you he won't back down from any challenge thrown his way. He is a better athlete than most would think but he definitely will need to put on some weight. He has a wonderful family behind him that have always supported him. Don't be shocked if two years from now he has earned a scholarship and is pushing to get some time on the field.

I have seen him play several times. Kid is a stud. I would compare him to Anders Hill from Fairview a couple of years ago in terms of arm talent and his ability to conduct a pretty sophisticated offense. Chris is probably a little bit better all around athlete, but Anders was a little more prepared physically. It will be interesting to see if he ever amounts to much as a QB at this level. I suppose I would have some doubts about that.

If he does ever play a role, I would guess it would be at WR. He has the right frame for it and is a good to great athlete. I could certainly see that before a tight end.

The kid is a QB and a damn good one. He is also a very good athlete and plays with swagger. I hated coaching against him. He's already better than Gehrke and while maybe not as highly rated/recruited as Noyer, is very close to his level. The knee injury put somewhat of a damper on his recruitment. The kid was well on his way to owning practically every state single season passing record. Don't count him out at QB down the road.

Thanks for the post. I hope he comes in and proves that he should have been given a scholly right out of HS.

If he does that will also help address our weakness in recruiting QBs and make us deeper. It's about time we get lucky and hit one.
