Don't want to mess up a recruiting thread but a recruit brought up best 2 man edge rush in history to which his 11 on 11 coach replied Alfred Williams and Kanavis McGhee.

Got me thinking, with all the spread offenses that remove the FB and TE and leave the OTs one on one with the edge rusher, how many QBs would those guys have killed playing against modern offenses?

All of them.
 
When the buffs recruited Alfred and kanavis they were brought in to take the next step and win a championship. We are not at that point right now. Obviously if we recruited someone like that they would dominate but once we got to the point we want to be at there would be an all American tackle waiting for them on the other side. Even though the offenses have changed there are still dominant players out there. There are still great edge rushers out there and there are still great offenses. It's not like elite offenses are just waiting for great rushers to beat them.

Nailed it! There are those OCs out there who say, "You blitz/edge rush, we score!" Talent being roughly equal, there are counters to everything an defense tries on a consistent basis(except the Joe Morris 1-10 formation!).
