What to expect from Davis Webb (NOTHING - Cal Bound)

If he comes then he is the most awesomest guy ever! If he doesn't, I hope he gets his penis removed by Ramsay Bolton. That's just how sports work.

Sounds fair.

whatever it takes to make sure renegers don't breed more of their kind.

in the TV show, do they explicitly let the audience know that Ramsey cut off Theon's dick? the books suggest something like that but never say.

Yup

He's not a recruit; he's a transfer looking out for No1. Mac lost plenty of great Colo. recruits to other schools, starting at FHS: Boselli and Scott Lockwood come immediately to mind and any good kid south of Arapahoe Road in Denver, belonged to Texas or Oklahoma!

You are right that he is a transfer but he is still being recruited. While in the past we did not hit on all of the big recruits, we did hit on many. Enough for the team to get back to national prominence and to stay there for more than a decade. We have not done that in the last three years which is troubling.

In this case, he committed. They had him sold and then something changed. Closing is a problem with this staff.

Has recruiting improved, slightly but not substantially and certainly not enough. This is just another indication that we have a long way to go. We will see if MM can get to a bowl because if not, he should be gone.

If MM can get Webb he needs to tell SL that he will redshirt this year. Give him a year to heal, more school for free. Not like SL is going to be drafted. THen gives us options for next year.

This is do or die for MM I think. He stays with SL and wins four games and I will be burning him in effigy.
...I'll bring the matches.

I love this forum so much. As a lifelong fan, I don't know how I didn't find out about it until this year. There is nothing more beautiful than seeing people being unified by our collective decade long misery. This thread is a microcosm of the past decade and of the bevy of emotions we have felt through this tough time. It has it all.

We have the over-evaluators "He'll be here, my cousin's buddy on the Texas Tech forum heard a rumor Webb changed his twitter handle at 4:20 pm, which we can only assume is a homage to legal weed in Colorado and is an indicator of his commitment."

We have the doom and gloomers "If he leaves, this will set this program back 10 more years."

The youth movement guys "Montez is the savior. Let's throw him to the wolves as a RS freshman in a P5 conference, still learning a new system, after watching him struggle in the 20 or so snaps we've actually seen him play in the spring game against our own defense, with a bad offensive line."

The we don't need him guys "you know, I have been hearing Montez is looking great, and Sefo's numbers are very similar. Who says he can even beat them out?" Oh how short some of our memories are. Watching the youtube videos I think Jeric made(??) and you will see immediately that the similarities stop at the numbers.

The entirely delusional "Gehrke actually looked decent in the spring game. Maybe he has made the leap." This one was the most concerning, because it took a while for anybody to question this take. Hopefully this was just mental weakness due to gut punch #5789 of the decade. Thank God Duff said something and brought everyone back to reality. Watching 5 minutes of Gehrke is enough to know he just doesn't have the tools to win games in the PAC 12.

The sad thing is, when I first heard about Webb shopping around, I wasn't even surprised that he might leave. It's depressing that we have become totally numb to bad things happening to us. But at this point, we've gone through hell for so long that we would be stupid to turn back. I hope he stays. I personally don't think he will. If he does stay, his ability to make quick reads and limit the impact of a bad offensive line is exactly what we need.

nah.. what we really have here is a bunch of 35 year olds who apparently have nothing better to do with their time than watch for the latest updates on the whims of a college transfer quarterback with a twitter account.

To be fair, nobody questioned the Gehrke take because nobody in their right mind considered it worth their time. Gehrke was a back up to Sefo AND Apsay last year, and has only moved up to #2 in the Spring because of Sefo's injury. Montez has jumped him and come Fall, Sefo will be back ahead of him, as will Webb, obviously.

I remain in shell-shocked denial on the Gehrke take. It didn't happen.

Just laugh everyone, and let the chips fall where they may. PSA: if any of you are tweeting at Webb, stop. That's not only NOT going to help, it's a recruiting violation. If any of you are on twitter badgering the coaches about Webb, Stop. They use twitter for recruiting, and whining at them about a recruit doesn't do anything and they will never answer you. Or...

Sometimes, laughing is all you can do. I laughed like Jack Nicholson in "The Shining" when I first read he went to visit Cal. Girlfriend slowly stood up, avoided eye contact, tried not to make any sudden moves, and went into the other room. Buffs Football, baby!

There are only two classifications of people who aren't annoyed by this:

1. The people doing it

2. The admissions team at Independence Community College

I think ICC has my number blocked. I need to stop at 7-11 for a disposable phone I can use to call them and find out what's going on with Webb.

MM is off the rails then. Asking a player who may be tough, but has done jack sh!t to elevate this program how he feels about bringing in competition is total BS. So, I guess MM is okay with going 4-8 next year and collecting his buyout, because if this is the case, that writing's on the wall.

Well this **** has escalated I see, not in the mood to even have an opinion. Good Lord Snow is giving good advice.

It's a tad bit of an overreaction tho. There are only 2-3 people I see tweeting at recruits.

Then a ton of tweets and follows later, and the guy is visiting "the best fan base in America." It's been nonstop on all the Nebraska recruits pages. And USC, and Florida, etc.

Of course I think it's extremely weird to tweet your love and admiration at high school football players. It's inappropriate and apparently against the rules. I'm just saying that I don't see CU fans doing this with the exception of the one posted in Barzil.

Oh Good Lord! I just looked at Keshawn's Twitter feed and wanted to throw up. The brainwashing done on that kid is criminal. "There is no place like the 402!" Seriously? That is like saying "There is no place like USP Leavenworth!"

To be fair, he's right. Nebraska sucks way worse than anywhere else.

402?!?!

It ain't no 420.

Granted, but he isn't talking about it that way. He is bragging about it like the naive 70 year old Nigerian scam victim brags about their lottery winnings that are about to arrive as soon as they pay Customs duties for the 8th time.

I understood you the first time, but his misguided notions make it suck even more.

The amount of red on that twitter feed makes my eyes bleed...
