The report found Bellevue to be guilty of directing players to classes at a private alternative school (Academic Institute) in order to maintain minimum GPAs for eligibility. In a summary, "One player who attended AI told investigators that one teacher provided him answers to tests. He called the program a 'joke' that served as a 'day care' for players.

Additionally, families of Bellevue players reportedly supplied false addresses to the school district in order to gain eligibility.

The report also found that football team boosters helped subsidize tuition for certain players, and that coach Butch Goncharoff gave cash to a player's family. Overall, the report found that Bellevue administrators "willfully ignored" years of these violations.

I think we're going to start seeing more of this with the football factory high school programs. Things don't seem kosher with a lot of what's going on. The way they stockpile talent, keep players eligible, etc. I remember when I was a teenager that there was a powerhouse program in PA that brought a ton of talent into the district due to a relationship with a large manufacturing company that would offer dad and/or mom a great job if they'd move their family & its junior high all-star son to play there.
 
Another case where adults egos got out of control and they lived their fantasies through a bunch of teenagers.

Sadly though this stuff happens in every state. If you know a HS football coach well enough that he will talk to you off the record he will tell you exactly which schools are recruiting his best athletes.

There are high schools in Colorado that not only recruit kids as early as 7th grade but also who are willing to make sure that neither tuition cost nor academics will stand in the way a player they want putting on their jersey.

Is it any wonder that these kids come out of HS thinking that they are entitled and expecting their path to be smoothed for them.
 
I was in Seattle for a while when this decision came down, and that's all everyone there was talking about. Kind of reminded me of when Logan was coaching at Mullen
