Documentary about a fairly successful Juco in Mississippi. 6 episodes and I think they followed them for the 2015 season. Guess it's similar to Hard Knocks and All or nothing but in a college setting.

Former Seminole QB John Franklin 3 is probably the most famous guy on the show. I'm one episode in and it looks decent especially if you follow college ball.

Thanks for the heads up. Sounds like something I'd like. Need to check it out. (y)

I found it hard to pull for anyone in this show except maybe the OC. The HC is a complete douchebag and all the kids they follow are lazy dumbasses.

Good show though.

I constantly feel sorry for the academic advisor/babysitter/nanny. I'm only like two episodes in but I was like WTF when she had to explain the QB that there's more to a girl than her tits and vagina.

Watching this made me wonder ... what kind of level is JUCO football? What kind of conference or division would you compare it to and what program would you compare the top JUCO teams to?

Tough question. These are freshmen and sophomores. Seriously legit D1 and future NFL talent on the best teams, tho. I think the better JUCO programs could compete and win at the FCS level. Most JUCO programs would compete more at around the D2 level.

Just started it last night and watched two episodes. Growing up in suburbia and going to a 90% white high school that was rated "Excellent" academically, it was pretty eye opening to see the lack of discipline in this kids with simple things like going to class, bringing a pencil, notebook, etc. This is amplified even more when you consider many of them know they will be at a D1 program if they can just focus for 6 months.

As for the coach... He's clearly good at what he does and has been the benefactor of a lot of elite, troubled athletes washing out at their original SEC/ACC program, but he is definitely kind of a tool. He epitomizes that old school coaching stereotype of cussing players out, calling them names, and being a ridiculous hard ass. However, he did state that because of the way a lot of these kids were brought up, in order to get them to focus, work as a team (for once), and get to where they want to go, the staff has to treat them with kid gloves and tough love at the same time. That is an extremely hard, contradicting thing to do.

I thought it was ok. I found myself just feeling frustrated with how little these players care about anything other than football. I get that many of them come from effed up backgrounds, but why the advisor/babysitter lady invests so much time into these players, to the point of giving up her entire personal life, when they give zero ****s is beyond me. I'm in a role similar to her's (however, not in athletics), and if the student doesn't care or want to be helped, then I see no reason to go out of your way for them. It's college, not high school.

It kinda sucks so far. I am on episode 2. I feel sorry for the blonde lady (forget her name and title) but I feel like she might secretly do sexual favors .... I am just saying lol.

He came off as the biggest douche in the whole show so it makes sense a head coach wouldn't want to hand their whole team over to him.

Look at the reigning NFL MVP's Instagram and tell me he isn't a douche ;)

Haha I don't have Instagram so I wouldn't know but I get it. That kid just annoyed me most of the show. He is tiny too, sec kids are gonna love hitting him.

Good. He cant throw.
I still cant believe some of these guys passed classes seems fishy.
It's Mississippi juco lol they had a quiz on a book seventh grade teachers make us read in Colorado so it can't be that hard. She was no joke teaching the guy what irony was.

Season 2 streaming now, would reckon it'll be the last as Miss Wagner has since left East Mississippi CC

Biggest name seems to be DeAndre Johnson, who got kicked out at Florida State for punching a girl.

Just finished S2 and it shows you that there'll be a job for you in college football if you know how to win no matter how big an arsehole you may be.

FYI, De'Andre Johnson signed with Lane Kiffin at Florida Atlantic University of Conference USA.

Buddy Stephens is a trash coach. His success is directly fueled by a good coaching staff around him and D1/NFL talent on his roster. Every single one of us could coach those teams to at least 8 wins. Plus, he's a redneck doosh. Rot in hell fat man.

You'd be surprised how often that happens.
