After last weeks pathetic slate of walkovers looking forward to some competitive games this weekend.

Two big match-ups of top 25 teams.
#2 Florida State gets #10 Louisville, two teams that can score a lot of points, should be fun to watch.

#1 Alabama visits #19 Ole Miss. Ole Miss has a couple recent wins against Saban, they have been a tough team for Bama to figure out. May not matter though as Ole Miss is trying to rebuild after losing a lot of talent from last years team. Bama simply reloads.

Other interesting game has #22 Oregon visiting the fuskers in Stincoln. Be good to see a PAC 12 school continue the suffering of the polyester faithful.

Locally CSU should get healthy against an FCS opponent. Little less sure when that FCS opponent is neighboring UNC who seems to be getting back on track at 2-0 this season coming in. CSU should be a much better team but just as the sheep see beating CU as their chance for recognition UNC will have a bunch of kids who would like nothing better than to beat the G5 team that didn't offer them schollies.

Wyoming host Big Sky UC-Davis in one of the few games left on their schedule they should win.

AFA gets a bye

In the local smaller schools nationally ranked schools battle with Colorado Mesa visiting Colorado Mines in Golden

Huge games I missed putting on the list

#14 Oklahoma host #3 Ohio State. This game has big implications. Rarely do teams like the Suckeyes travel in the OOC to someplace they are likely to get beat. Lose this one and they may not schedule another for a long time. tOSU has playoff hopes, winning this would be a huge step that direction, losing means they have to win out to have a good chance. On the other side Sooner fans had big expectations for this season also including playoffs. After managing to lose their opener is Stoops on the hot seat. Winning this game would make him a lot more comfortable.

Also USC visits Stanford
Early in the year for a conference game this big. A second loss here would do major damage to USC. Stanford looks to be battling with Washington for top team in the conference and a PAC return to the playoff.

#12 Michigan State at #18 Notre Dame
Notre Dame is another school that lost a big game early. Losing another would put a damper on their season. Michigan State came into the season with a little lower expectations after losing a lot of talent over the past couple years but somehow they always seem to put a solid team on the field. A win here would jump them in the standings and maybe change their expectations for the season some.

This is pretty cool:

Would've been even better if they'd put a bee next to it.

Could be interesting up in Ft. Fun. UNC starting QB Knipp gets banged up on the second play of the game last week at Abilene Christian and the backup, a 5th year grad transfer from Southern Miss, steps in and throws 6 TD passes in a 55-52 UNC win. Not sure what Knipp's status is, but it would be hard to keep the backup on the bench IMO. Sheep might taste an FCS loss to the Bears.....

Would love it if the sheep fans had to hear it from the Bears fans for a year.

In some of the big games this weekend I think there'll be a few mild upsets - Louisville over FSU, OU over Ohio State, A&M over Auburn, and USC over Stanford.

I'd like to see the Sooners beat the Suckeyes but don't think it will happen. Expecting Stanford to hammer a USC team that lacks character. The other two are good possibilities. Wouldn't be an upset but I like Sparty more than most B1G schools and always enjoy watching ND lose.

I thought I'd seen everything, until now.

Sparty is a 7.5-8 point underdog at ND. I'm afraid ND wins that one but would love to see MSU win.

In one of the strange matchups of the week, #25 Miami is playing at App State
http://www.sbnation.com/college-foo.../appalachian-state-miami-road-game-boone-2016

When Appalachian State hosts No. 25 Miami on Saturday (noon ET, ESPN), it’ll be one of the biggest moments in the history of the school’s football program.

It’s not a new thing for non-power schools to get visits from teams with national stature. It happens a few times most years.

But Saturday’s game in Boone, two hours northwest of Charlotte, is a cool thing for the Mountaineers. This is a program that transitioned upward to college football’s FBS just three years ago. Now it’s got a spotlight, hosting a five-time FBS national championship program on ESPN, immediately after the network's popular College GameDay.

Why does this crap never happen when we're playing Pac 12 teams, at least when its the other team making the bone headed play instead of us.
