UM Postgame Impression

I must say, I was impressed with the CU contingent in Ann Arbor. We had a great showing, and earned a lot of respect from the UM fans.

As I do after every road game, I went and waited for the team to come out of the locker room. I was very impressed by their body language when they did. This team wasn't dejected, they were pissed and felt like they should have won that game, much different than past years. I spoke with Sefo (he's playing this week imo), Chido, Shay and Lindsay, and all spoke with so much confidence coming out of that loss, and looking to next week.

Having said that, the first person out of the locker room, and the one who appeared to be more fired up than anyone was Chiv. This team is in good hands, better hands if Sefo is in there, but as they keep saying, the rise is real. Sticking with my post CSU prediction, this team goes 7-5.

Go Buffs!

Good post
We need to remember that we played a top 5 team on the road and had chances to win. Really could have if Sefo doesn't go down. This was not a train wreck game as some make it out to be.
Sure we have issues with special teams and now injuries, but I think this team can still do good things this season.

Agree on Sefo. He is going to play until he can't.

Agreed - I was proud of how many of us were there, and how loud we were. I saw/ran across more than a few CU tailgates as well. A few UM fans commented how they were impressed by our showing, and at halftime, they were all respecting CU's field performance. After the game, more than a few were complimentary during dinner and drinks. I remember only one college age-frat-looking kid tried talking ****.

As for UM fans - I respect them and their program. I honestly thought it was more fun than when we went to Columbus, and that's not just because our team is better. Columbus sort of sucks as a city imo, but Ann Arbor was fun.

I will say though that while I was annoyed with where they sat all of us CU fans, it makes sense (and also, there's not a really terrible seat in the Big House). Sit the opposing team up in the nosebleeds. I wish CU would put other teams' fans higher up, as opposed to right near one of the end zones.

Well the only "higher" seats they could put opposing fans would be in the south endzone behind our fans and band or along the east sideline. No way they put them there. We don't have 91
rows like UM does.

Also couldn't complain about my seats

As I process the game I believe a healthy Sefo is an NFL prospect. He is an all time Buff for going out there for the last three years with bad line coaching and busting his ass for CU.
Our recruiting has been so poor that we have no depth, but our ones were even with, or better than a top ten teams.
Mac out coached Harbaugh at the start.
Special teams may cost Mac his job. He needs to invest 1/3 of his time there.
It was really fun through the first half!

There's part of me that thinks Sefo could have a Charlie Batch type NFL career as a high character, smart backup the team can rally behind if he needs to take over for a few weeks.

I'll complain for you. That flag pole seriously obstructs sight lines to a key part of the field.

Of course the visiting fans are offered the one section of the big house that has a triple obstructed view with the goal posts taking out the center and right side.

Amazing you saw any of the game!

Not a flag pole. Field goal net.

Also not the visiting fan section. They were up in the very top corner of the bowl.

I have been to Columbus and Ann Arbor several times. You nailed it; Columbus sucks. Ann Arbor is a great college town and a lot of fun.

A bit of an understatement. We had a punt blocked for a TD, we punted into the back of our line, punt return for a TD, missed kick, and then our kicker exploded his leg.

More like a catastrophic failure of special teams. That being said the season hinges on Sefo. If he can hobble out there, we will be close to a bowl.

Mac is safe. If Sefo is healthy we are bowling at a good bowl. If not, I still see us winning 6 and bowling at a crappy bowl. I think this team would rally behind Montez with all the reps in practice. Kid is good too. If Shay and Fraizer catch those two balls CU sores 14 more points and win. Bad bad bad that they didn't get those. Those killed us every bit as much as special teams.

I think it's way to early to say Mac is safe.....if this team doesn't bowl, he's gone!

I think this team is bowling. So....as long as we make a bowl, he's safe. If Sefo cant play all year and we win 5 I think he's safe. But I think this team can win with Montez. We play a lot of games still with teams that are not nearly as good as Michigan. Only two that might be as good is Stanford and Washington. Yes, I said Washington. I have the faith.

Buffs don't play Washington this season.

The Michigan game showed us the team is there. Ready to fight top 5 teams toe to toe. He has to go bowling to keep his job IMO. Anything less will be a big coaching failure.

Exactly....the pieces are in place, and realistically, next year is less promising than this year. If we are going to start over, 17' is a good time to do it. However, I still believe we go 7- and bowling.

1. CSU, 2. ISU, 3. OSU, 4. ASU or UA (pick one), 5. UCLA, 6. WSU, 7. Utah

I'll take AND instead of or for 8, and I think if we have Sefo we are going to beat USC at the coliseum this year. For 9 wins. I want CU to get to the Pac 12 Championship. Badly.

Good list but wondering...do you think there are any unwinnable games? I had a few in that column at the beginning of the year but none in that column now.

The closest I had in that column was Stanford. But after Michigan, I think the Buffs have a chance. Furd is similar, but without the speed all over the field. However, they do have Christian (who we may not want to punt to).

I'm all about going for it on every down. Only thing punting to Cmac would do is get him tired from all those long returns.

We're going to lose two more games, but still win the South and go to the Pac-12 Championship game, where, in a very close game, we'll lose to Washington. UW will go to the playoff, and we'll head to the Rose Bowl.

Meanwhile, in the B1G, tOSU will win out and go to the playoffs, which then puts Michigan in the Rose Bowl, where we extract our revenge.

I like the cut of your jib.

I guess I'm a PAC guy now, because I almost want the Rose Bowl more than the playoffs. Of course, even with a vastly improved Buffs team, and a down P12S, I know what a date with Bama would be like. Rose Bowl! Rose Bowl! Rose Bowl!! (plus I want to see the Tournament of Roses Parade someday).

Yeah, a long shot still even for the Rose Bowl. But it's nice to know...if Sefo is healthy, it could happen. If they clean up special teams. Maybe let them ride a long bus.

I don't see any as unwinnable....I just don't have the confidence that we win all of our 50-50 games.

Rose Bowl would be sweet.....I thought I was going there back in 01', but some system BCS thing didn't work out how I expected.

It was Southern Mississippi vs TCU on the last weekend of the season. TCU won by 2 points. Southern Miss was in field goal range with 33 seconds left when a TCU linebacker made a ridiculous interception. Because TCU won that game, NU's "schedule rank" improved by 0.06, and they ended up ahead of us by 0.05 in the total column.

And people wonder why I have an unhealthy hatred for so called "christian" schools in Texas.

SMU, TCU, **** Baylor - **** them all.

I was also quite impressed with the CU contingent in Ann Arbor but at the same time was also expecting it after reading on this board and on twitter the amount of CU fans on flights out of Denver. Saw quite a few CU fans in AA on Friday and then I was thoroughly impressed with the Buff Bash tailgate crowd. I parked at the golf course right across from the stadium where the CU tailgate tent was set up and there were a number of CU tailgates in that area. Ran into Tad at the CU tailgate which was very cool.

The weather was great on Friday but then on Saturday we woke up to an overcast and rainy day, but at least it cleared up by about 1 and was fine for the game so can't complain too much. I was actually a bit underwhelmed with the Big House probably because of the bowl shape and no upper decks, even though I fully knew the shape and layout of this stadium beforehand. One thing that I didn't like was that the stadium was about a mile or 1.5 from main campus, as that just deters from the true college atmosphere. I've always been a big fan of the stadiums which are right on the main campus.

Overall it was a great trip despite the outcome of the game. I absolutely love going to CU road games at big-time venues with great fanbases.
